Hi all i just need some help on why my Piaggio mp3 is draining my battery

if i leave the bike and start it up its fine but after a journey out to work it just dies

if i stop at a garage to get petrol it wont start because the battery has been approx 20miles. drained. during the ride to work i notice the lack of power and then the indicators die and then the bike turns off. if i fit another charged battery then its fine for another 20miles

I have already fitted a new solenoid and regulator rectifier and spark plug + lead

really not sure what else ? Facepalm emoticon

You really need to stick an AC volt meter on 2 of the 3 three supply wires from the stator which plug into the regulator rev it up and check the voltage. It should be some where between 30 to 40 volts. if it doesn'"give you that value the stator might be bugared or the connections to the stator have gone faulty.
Sounds like you have already had the plastics off on the right side to replace the
regulator and it will be much quicker the second time around.

As I mentioned in my earlier post check the output from the stator.

hello guys ps oldgoat sorry i am not a expect using a voltmeter

i have tested the voltage regulator as i have 2 of them both are working as i don't see the voltage go above 14-16v i noticed i have a burnt (melted) 30amp fuse that connects to the voltage regulator (fuse still worked)apparently. i also noticed tons of extra parts added to the bike ie a alarm system and 3x speakers for the indicators and alarm audio i have removed all these extra stuff and hope this might of been the issue drawing to much power from the battery i also notice the guy was wireing up heated grips.
