Edit1: second clamp fail at https://modernvespa.com/forum/post2646621#2646621

Edit2: also read Rhetorical: should coolant be coming out of my exhaust manif

I'd carefully cleaned this yesterday evening and checked today and ...

Looking at this do you reckon I could just take the single use clamp off and replace it (maybe without removing the hose) and that'd fix it or do you reckon the hose itself is somehow becoming dodgy?

I'd 100% suspect the clamp before the hose.

R&R with a more suitable clamp. if you've got lithe little pickpocket fingers and patience you can totally do it in situ.

notes after doing it:

removed side skirt,
used a 16-27mm ss clamp (without the holes),
get the new clamp on the hose first,
put a pan under because it will drip quickly,
remove old with a screwdriver,
slide new and tighten,
wipe up.

now to wait and few hours and then
check for drips,
probably will bleed,
check coolant level,
ride,
repeat these steps.

update:

decided it was too near the fuel tank so rotated it back. (note the previous photo was misleading as it appears to be touching but it wasn't)

and for bonus points make sure you repeatedly drop your 7mm spanner in a mess of oil and coolant in the pan underneath

Guess what?

Another clamp on another hose started leaking.

The clamp on the bypass(?) hose underneath the thermostat. This is a different type of clamp - it's a t-bolt. Nightmare to get at but have tightened a little but didn't seem to need much. Replacing it would be hell without engine removal

So coincidence or a sign of something else? Temps have been showing normal

I'd call that purely coincidental. if the temps were showing differently then I'd cast a suspect eye.

also, I hate that particular style of clamp.
