Hi thought I'd get her indoors for the winter ready for the rebuild..
Need to build a parts cleaner 1st as it is filthy and the grease has dried hard in places..
Get everything clean and painted
Not much rust only in battery tray
Loads of spiders in it lol
I've got most of the parts already just need new barrel..

I believe those threads you're pointing out are part of a flyscreen mounting kit.

Right so the plan is to build a cafe racer style scooter..
I like the small front mudguard but the price is crazy so has anyone any cheaper alternatives..
I was looking at the px version but mount is on the wrong side..has anyone modified one??
Gtv handlebars new are £249 for less metal lol..again any cheaper alternatives
Does anyone know of a handlebar clamp that might fit so I can use different bars..
Can you shorten the shocks to lower the front end or longer rears..
Anyone fitted a belly pan !!.
Two minds on paint..keep it black with racing decals or a Italian ww2 camouflage scheme..

Been a while since I have done anything on project bastard..so finally got round to finish stripping all off today ready to start on the bodywork..
I'm going to weld up the indicator holes front and back to give a smoother look..
Where the rear side plastic panels go is going to be cut off round to the rear light, as can't get gt plastics anymore and looks better, bit like a px..
The front radiator vents to be removed and hexagon mesh welded in place..
Trim the lip for seat
I won't be using the plastic helmet storage thing as I want to run a 2nd battery

Hi,

I see work progress at last....
If you cancel original direction lights, where you install new? On end handlebars?

Hi thanks..yes finally getting it moving along, after loosing motivation on it..got some parts coming next week that I just couldn't get..
In the UK you only need indicators to work for mot,if they don't have them ,it's not a problem..old vespas didn't have them either lol..a

Has anyone tried the piaggio x9 forks as an alternative to standard one..double disc brakes 14"wheels and a nod to the lambretta/px fork swap..
Or gilera runner vxr fork single disc 13"wheel ..
Would like to chop my forks down by 2" but finding suitable shocks are hard to find..

Well that's out the window, the forks are too short and don't have a thread at top ..
Back to the chopping then

So fork search again,, it seems the piaggio fly forks steering tube is 10mm shorter than stock.
So they could fit but have bigger wheels, so this could possibly work

Piaggio fly steering tube and stantions
Piaggio x9 bottom stantions with double disc set up
Gilera runner 13" front wheel modified to suit

I'm awaiting replies on Gilera runner forks specs (teenagers lol) will post the findings Facepalm emoticon

Gilera runner steering tube length is 450mm so only 10mm shorter, so that's a big yes..
Complete 125 front end off eBay £70 and you can adjust height of them ..
This could work out

Cylinder head turned up today at Last..£25 including postage. No cracks by spark plug .
I need to strip it down then get it vapour blasted ready to send off for some porting and valves work.
Still trying to find out if the malossi cam will fit this head
It's off a 99 gilera runner
