Are all Vespa Front indicators gt, gtv, gts interchangeable?
I'm not bothered about cables and plugs.
I just want the single bulb front light fitting rather than the t10 bulb and LED's to fit in a 2017 GTS300 so that I can fit some switchbacks that take the larger BAU15S-1156 / BA15S-1156 bulbs. The LED's in the existing GTS OEM front indicators seem a bit weak compared to the switchbacks I fitted to my LX125.
I'm in UK BTW.
Thanksu#

bit confused about what you are asking or wanting to do but anyway ...

the indicators are the same for gts 2014-2022 according to SIP

https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/search/1D000475

for changing the amber indicator bulb there are multiple posts here for that

I think the original US GT200 didn't have running lights in the blinkers. At least in the US Market. The 584970-584973 series has two incandescent bulbs in the front indicators. One is the running lights, and the other one is the blinkers.

The 2023 ones are different - they are held in by a screw on the inside of the panel.

The assumption is that LEDs won't require frequent servicing. Yes?

They just made everything more difficult to do on the 2023 model. More screws to undo, more screws hidden under the panels. Even my clutch holder and variator holder that I use for roller/belt changes no longer fit.

Okay maybe I didn't make myself clear. Would any year single bulb Front indicator fitting from a GTS GT GTV fit in my 2017 GTS 300. I will redo wiring.

I just want to make sure it fits in the slot on the scoot. I want the single bulb option because the switchbacks pictured have a more powerful LED DRL than the OEM light fitting.

There's no longevity benefit from using LED indicators - they are on for such a small time overall. However, their sudden turn ON/OFF characteristic makes them more immediately noticeable, so worth doing for that alone.

I can only say that I have a 2005 GT and a 2009 GTS and both the front and rear turn signal assemblies are the same.

Hi, I got this recently from AliExpress, unfortunately the rubber mounting bulb inside the indicator casing was to small, the bulb was too loose Facepalm emoticon

So i cut gently the rubber out and fitted the LED bulb inside the gray connector, like on the photos below. I did remove the resistors as well, did not need them with my 2007 LX.

UPDATE: Yes interchangeable....

I bought these single bulb fitting indicators for a GTS
Then fitted these Switchback DRL's
I bought some original 3 way connectors I posted about here.
Indicator connectors plugs 3 way for GTS 300 ABS

The result is a much brighter light LED than stock.

Just a second update to add that when I first used the scoot the dlr worked fine but the front indicators went weird and would not change to amber when used but after a short while the ECU must have learned what was going on and then worked.......but if you don't ride the bike for a while it has to relearn the system again. So my rear light bar that I scrapped probably would have worked once the ECU got use to it. I guess the ECU is looking for changes in the load to warn you if the bulb blows?

the ecu knows nothing about the indicators or the tail+brake lights.

It definitely knows about the brake light.....
No brake light no start.

No and yes (ish)...

The brake light circuit is merely part of the starter relay control circuit, the only part the ECU plays is to disable the immobiliser when a recognised key is inserted.

So the ECU 'knows' nothing about the brake light. Also, the brake light bulb could be blown, and the bike would still start...

Finally update......

The issue with the front dlr indicator kit not flashing properly was solved by changing the flasher relay unit to this led one.......£3.59 well spent and it's the same size and fitting as the original.
