Hello all, new here but have been lurking this forum for a couple of months.

I was recently given a Liberty 150S, and it had some minor damage from the previous owner, and I'm just looking into DIYing the easier portions, but this portion might be the next step up in difficulty. I believe this bike was dropped before and the mirror screw broke in the mount.

I did my research, and bought a right side master cylinder purch (I think that's how it's called.) How complicated is it to reinstall this? It seems like I only have to put in 3 cables, and I have previously opened the front panel (to dry to drill out the old one,) but the screw was too badly broken in there so I bought a whole new purch. Thanks so much!

Just in case I got the name wrong, here's what I'm talking about:

Did you buy a complete master cylinder? The mirror mount is cast into the master cylinder. If you did, you will need to drain the fluid, remove the brake line from the old master cylinder, install it on the new one, and then bleed the system. The wires are to the brake switch, which will unscrew from the old master cylinder and screw into the new one.
If you bought the part in the link, you will also need to install the brake lever, spring and screw from your old master cylinder, and you should get some new crush washers for the brake line.

A perch is what the assembly is usually called if it doesn't have a Master cylinder, like when have a drum brake, and the same assembly holds the cables, brake handle and mirror mount. The right assembly is usually referred to as a master cylinder.

FYI, you can often find brand new Piaggio parts for the same as or less than what used parts sell for on Ebay.

Thank you for your response! I exactly bought what was in that ebay link (I'm the buyer,) I just got it today. I was just going to replace everything with this one, but I wanted to know if it was difficult or not. I'm an above average technician, with computers. This is my first vehicle ever, but this seems electrical and bicycle oriented and I used to be quite adept with that. If it's just screwing and replacing, I could probably do it myself... Just hoping there isn't something I could fuck up. I did see a video where I would need to replace the brake fluid inside of this, which I'm prepared for.

I feel like this video might be what I need to do:

Is it? Thanks so much.

This is what I used to do the left side. I did buy those crush washers, since he emphasized replacing those as have others on this forum. The swap was easy, to me, I did not have to deal with the throttle, though.

Don't get me started on bleeding my brakes though! 😂

I was able to successfuly replace it. It really wasn't anything hard at all. The brake bleeding was tedious, but everything else was extremely straight forward. Heck, on the Liberty, you don't even need to remove the throttle, since it has a two screw latch, excellent! Thanks for the replies. Now to look for a replacement OEM right mirror...
