Hi and Moin out there!
Somehow I always wanted a Vespa since my days in school, but instead I got a Honda CB50, a Vivacity50 and a Jetforce50. Which were fun, but now I got my licence extension for 125ccm and my Ministry of Finances said YES to a brandnew green Sprint125 RacingSixties which I found relatively cheap.
After having (really big) issues with the new scoot just a few days after buing, I was able to trade back. It was not starting at all with at this point 120km on the clock and warranty was denying service because of issues with the VIN being sold 2 years before in a different country and having no service records. Because I bought it as "brand new", after long discussions the dealer took it back and I was refunded. I was already in love with the model and colour, so I had to find a "new" new example which I got in Hamburg. Transport from there was no big problem for the opportunity of getting the most beautiful new Vespa: 180km by trailer which I did on a nice saturday.
Now the current vespa had one issue with dead fuel pump, covered by warranty at local service and a few days back it got the 1000km-service.
I love scootin'round with this tiny little fun tool! It is by far not the most powerful 125er, but it loves zipping through metropolitain traffic and cruising small country roads which often have a 70km/h limit here.
I did some nice tours during the last weeks and I can see there is more to come.

Welcome!
Got any pics?
I've been travelling around Europe on my own 125cc Sprint. If you avoid motorways, they're very capable scooters! It's also nice that the only things to really check on the road are oil level and tyre pressures - both of which have been perfect.
So far, I've gone from England, through France, into Italy and back - but hoping to go into some more European countries in 2024.

Sorry, no spectacular pics at this point. It is a stock Sprint125 in lotus green with yellow stripes. Has 1200km on the clock now. For warrenty reasons and because I love this scooter as-is I did not much to it yet. I only installed barend mirrors, a phone holder under the steering bar and a footwell rack. I think I will install an alternative routed USB charging cable to avoid having the lid half way opened.
I am not planning any internaional tours since my licence is only valid inside Germany, but I will do some nice daytrips and after-work-rideouts in the next season. We will see...

An aftermarket USB is a good idea, as the built in one is extremely low power.
Do you have many Vespa clubs and communities in Germany?
I had the same thing with my licence, and had to do an A1 test before I could leave the UK. Luckily, I was able to do the test on my own Vespa which saved a lot of money - but I'm limited to a 125cc auto unless I redo the test on a bigger bike.

The German "B196" is what I did. It is an extension on the B-licence for up to 125ccm bikes. It is only lessons - no test. The other option would be complete driving school with test for A1 which would cost the same as full class A.
Rumours are going, that this B196 may be internationally recognized in the future (maybe at least inside EU).
The original USB power is not much but OK to keep a charged phone alive over hours while navigating and minor use at stops. What I do not like is that you have to fiddle the cable through the glovebox lid to the cradle.
