Hey all. So in replacing a battery I managed to drop one of the terminal nuts (the tiny little rectangular nuts that come with a new battery) not down IN the plastic battery box, but...IN THE LITTLE CRACK between the front edge of the box and the scoot floorboard.

So what's the secret to getting the box out. Short of cutting it? I managed to wrangle the curved "lip" part up over the side which I thought would free it, but no such luck. (Scoot is a 2016 Primavera.) TIA.

Question: why not use the nut from the old battery?

If it's a PITA to get the tray out and you can't use the old nuts, just go to any bike shop and ask for one battery nut. I have like 10-20 sets here from customer bikes and those guys work on 1000x more bikes a year than me. They'll give you one.

Uh, yeah of course. I'll likely just go to the shop and get one.

But seriously. It's ridiculous that there's no way to just remove the box.

Lead batteries spit a bit as they vent and there have been instances of them rotting Vespas from the inside out - so that's likely why the battery box is wedged securely in place - to protect against this.

Sometimes new batteries will include new terminal nuts inside the box with the manual - my last one did.

How about we address the real issue here...the stupid, ridiculous, absurd, incredibly asinine and brainless way this is designed. How long has this been going on? There are literally thousands of complaints addressing this problem, and you're going to tell me that no one is prepared to fix it!? YOU PEOPLE AT VESPA ARE MORONS FOR ALLOWING THIS TO CONTINUE. I can't wait to sell this piece of crap and never look back.

You took the trouble to join this site for no other reason than to post THIS? Perhaps you picked the wrong site.

👸 (for those without glasses this is a princess)

this is the only post I've seen. so a lot less than thousands - suggest you try counting on your fingers and then when you don't run out of fingers ask yourself how many fingers do people have

Anyone near Reno who can put the poor man out of his misery? Apparently there's a Primavera for sale cheaply... He can't ask much for that piece of 💩

Just imagine how this guy's day must have looked that he literally stopped everything he was doing, registered an account, to post this ROFL emoticon

Ah, thanks, I was trying to be fancy and name the link. Should have checked my work.

Not that the OP is likely to use it anyway...
