My Dad's email password was compromised. He had literally thousands of spam emails sent out from his address. I changed his password from here (Michigan) and had him write it down. He is in Louisiana still. I am on the phone with him now trying to walk him through changing his password on his Android tablet. He is reading every menu option to me including sound settings and wifi network settings.
I am looking for "how to's" online but Android is so freaking fragmented it's hard to find any two webpages that even agree on how to do anything. He's using the GMAIL app to log into his hotmail account. I am crying. |

Trying to buy a replacement muffler for my GTS. It has the Prima full exhaust that's no longer in production and the muffler was making an awful rattling sound and had gotten noticeably louder the last time I rode. I pulled the muffler off and half of the baffle fell out. Since you can't find these anywhere now, to eBay I went. I found one that was the muffler only for a decent price. Placed the order a few days ago and this morning I got an email saying the order was cancelled because they don't actually have it in stock. Bugger. It was more than I really wanted to spend, but I found another that was the full exhaust. Seller claimed it was new in box but they didn't know exactly what bike it went to. Looking at it, I was 90% sure it was the one for the GTS, but whatever... all I really needed was the muffler. I ordered it and within a couple hours got a cancellation for the same reason. They don't actually have it. Come on people... this isn't FB Marketplace! I have now made a 3rd attempt with the last listing I can find anywhere for this muffler. Hopefully they actually send it. I don't really care for the look of the stock exhaust or any of the more modern looking full exhaust systems.

Joining the OS bitch fest.
The right-click context menu stopped working on my Windows 10 work computer, but ONLY when I'm in a folder. I can right-click on an application, or on the desktop, and the menu appears. When I try to right-click on a file in a folder, nothing happens. Just discovered that when I right-click on an icon on the desktop, nothing happens then, either. I think I need to restart. |

Me, I'm pissing myself off.
I'm searching for a 3rd bike because I'm getting bored of waiting for either of my other two bikes to sell and all I keep searching for is either Air or Oil Head BMW's. I know they are trouble and expensive to repair but nothing built around the same time rides like them. |

I had to stop myself lusting after a CBX1000 recently. I need to wait until after we move. And even then a classic vespa, then a more "daily commuter" (not that I'll have one) THEN probably the "old V12 noise".

Rebooted the computer.
Still not able to right-click a file to access the context menu. I also have discovered that Adobe did away with the Adobe PDF printer instance in Windows 10. There's a Microsoft Print to PDF printer, though, so I'm still able to do what I need to do with PDFs. I just can't right-click on files. |

JKJ-FZ6 wrote: And the right-click works in other instances, right? So it's not the mouse. Is it possible to try plugging the mouse into a different port? It's a Logitech MX Master wireless mouse. I've checked, and I'm using the most up-to-date software for it. I will move the receiver to a different USB port and see if that helps. |

Traffic...
Between a holiday weekend, spring breakers, snowbirds and our main Rt.1 bridge over the Loxahatchee River being closed and rebuilt for the next year and a half, traffic around here is just awful. I don't even want to take my Vespa out anywhere except in my local neighborhood right now. |

thankfully our daily commute isn't affected (we're on the southern side of the bridge and i'm at Meade/she's a massage therapist nearby in Pasadena) but our ferret vet is up in the Emmorton/Bel Air area so that throws a massive wrench.
obviously we're far better than a couple coworkers of mine who live in Dundalk/Essex area. Kinda surreal that I'll never take that part of 695 again as long as we live here--we're headed to CO in a year.

theayn wrote: Check your local policies. There should be one titled "Prevent context menus from displaying when right-clicking". That should say "Not Configured", in a typical Macrosloth double negative, if you actually want those menus. I'm not sure what might have adjusted that policy, but I've seen far weirder things on Windows computers. I had a coworker test the right-click functionality on her computer, and it works just fine. My MacBook is also unaffected. It could be just my PC that is set up this way. My research also says that it could be caused by a plugin. I'm not sure what plugins I have installed, so I'll have to dig through that at some point. |

So, apologies ahead of time if this offends anyone. It was just my personal experience. I want to make sure there's no political attachment to any of this.
Saturday at our weekend meeting* I was handling AV. One of the attendants came and asked if I could come out back to discuss something and someone else would sit in for me. What had happened was a young gentleman had come to the door and asked to come in. Meetings are always open to the public, so it was no issue, even with his service dog. We're all about talking to people. It was only afterward that the attendant realized the guy was having some sort of psychotic break. The attendant, Chad, had taken him into the conference room where he proceeded to empty out all of his pockets and pouches onto the table in order to "be transparent" with us. Chad and I spent the next hour talking to the guy about his reasons for being there which included, but was not limited to, protecting those we couldn't save, dealing with the three demons he said he carried with him and helping him on his quest to Eden. Which ultimately turned out to be a grocery store in Clinton Township. He entrusted me with a pencil with their logo on it and a pair of tweezers. Chad and I did, in my opinion, a pretty good job of earning his trust, staying conversational and keeping things as safe as possible for everyone, all the while scoping him out to make sure he didn't have any weapon shaped bumps on his person. The guy had ID's military records, medical records, you name it, all of which he wanted to leave with us until we "met again". He is a permanently disabled vet. From his records I found he's from Ypsilanti. Clear across the state from us. I told him that he should keep his records with him because they were important and logistically, because of our geographic distance, we might not see him again for some time. So as we're talking I went through some of his records and made copies (which he was perfectly fine with) just so I'd have his information. I called the listed primary contact number. Nobody answered, so I left a message. He drove away on his own. We couldn't detain him, but my first call was to the VA in Ann Arbor. He had an upcoming appointments list with them as long as your arm. This is where this is on topic. When I explained to the desk jockey at the VA what was going on, that we had a disabled vet that needed help his response was, I kid you not : "What do you want me to do about it?" I said, one of your disabled veterans is in need of help because he could be a danger to himself or to others. Someone needs to know where he is and what's going on. His response was, "Well, he's in Grand Rapids. I'm in Ann Arbor. He's a grown adult. He hasn't committed a crime." I was beyond flabbergasted. The guy was downright combative. After hanging up I called the police, who were much nicer, probably because the lady cop I was talking to could tell I was a basket case, and took all the information. had on him and the vehicle. I also put another call in to his contact and left another message. At about 9:30 Saturday night I got a call from the contact, who was his neighbor. She was super glad we had talked with him, she explained some things, but ultimately he made it back home. I was really relieved. Her daughter is a VA nurse and they were contacting the VA Crisis Hotline to get the guy the help he needs. What really got me was the VA's response. I totally don't get it. There was absolutely no concern on his part. The phone was on speaker and my wife overheard the whole conversation. It wasn't just that he was overtly rude, which he was, he just went out of his way to be no help at all. The administration that is supposed to be there to assist veterans and they were no help. There's so much more to the story, but I don't want this to become a political topic. It was just infuriating. *We're Jehovah's Witnesses and I serve as an elder in our congregation, so ... responsibilities and stuff. Just for context.
