Look, I try not to be judgemental and I know that I'm not an oil painting to look at but when your dog isn't responding to anything that you are saying or doing then they shouldn't be let off the lead.
I'd like $5.00 for every time some stupid dog owner has said the word "Sorry" to me. |

I found our dog in 2010. From what we could tell she was about two. She is fat and happy, and at 14 lbs takes up more than her fair share of the bed. I carry her up and down the stairs when she wants me to. She has very few teeth anymore, but she's always on a leash when we walk her. She's had a good life. And, AFAIK, she isn't Brazilian.

My center stand for the Stella came in early. Minus some key components.
It only has one of the spring plates to go between the stand and frame and it's missing the rubber bumper that goes inside the bracket. That's three things I've ordered for this bike I can't use. The rear rack (from a reputable American source) with a mount plate that is NOT like the original. I still can't use that. The front rack that straight up did not fit despite having a picture of it mounted to a Stella in the description, and now the center stand missing parts. It's enough to make me depressed, as if owning a Stella weren't enough. |

Oh, and this. :
1 hurt in shooting at car meetup in Grand Rapids Quote: GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was shot during a car meetup in Grand Rapids early Sunday, police say. Around 1:50 a.m., officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department were sent to the area of 41st Street SE and Trade Drive after receiving reports that someone had been shot. Responding officers found over 100 people from the 313 and 616 area codes doing burnouts and donuts in the streets and firing gunshots into the air. GRPD said the car groups were asked to leave multiple times from various areas before the shooting. A woman who was in her vehicle had a bullet graze her head when it went through her back window, GRPD said. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening. GRPD said that gunshots continued to be heard on Stocking Avenue NW near 3rd Street NW around 2:40 a.m. This is not the first time that someone has been shot at a car meetup in Grand Rapids. In September 2023, a woman was shot and killed at a car meetup in the area of Freeman Avenue SW and Hall Street SW. After the shooting, metro Grand Rapids police agencies vowed an "aggressive approach" to shut down dangerous "car meetups" after a woman was shot and killed. "I'm happy that the law enforcement community here is unified in recognizing the need to respond to these events, which often feature firearms offenses, violence, disregard for the law and disregard for the well-being of others," Grand Rapids Police Department Chief Eric Winstrom said in September after the shooting. "Not only will we be working together to take an aggressive approach to addressing this illegal activity, we will work together to identify the organizers of these events and hold them accountable, as well." |

It comes in three's
1 While walking through a wood on the way home a bird shit all over my hand and phone. 2 Was going to take the Kymco out but it's new battery is flat. This is straight after an extensive repair. 3 Took out the RT instead but after feeling a little drafty I noticed that my zip on my leather jacket had failed. Rode home and threw it in the bin. The jacket, not the RT, but that is a good idea |

jess wrote: Yeah, that's just called a "car show". And I've been to many (and exhibited a few times). Agreed, though it gets really difficult to draw the line between "participant" and "spectator" at a sideshow. Is someone standing on the sidewalk watching the event also a criminal? And by what legal standard? What if the person was merely a bystander, who happened to be at that location at the moment a sideshow arrived? What about someone standing in front of their home as a sideshow breaks out? It's a really difficult thing to define. Although, at least in this case, I would say if someone was just hanging out in a disused parking lot after midnight on a Sunday morning, they were likely up to no good to begin with. If they arrived in one of the exhibition cars at such an event, they are participants. If they responded to the social media organization with "Yeah, bruh, my whip is da shizzle, no cap! I'll be there, yo.", or whatever the kids are saying these days, they are participants. If any of them already have outstanding warrants, they go to jail. Anyone with a projectile launching device either shows legal ownership or goes to jail. Cars should be impounded. The real issue is the response from the attendees to the police. You have a crowd that size that has already displayed complete disregard for the law, many of them are carrying projectile launching devices and you throw a few police officers in the mix who are already derided by that segment of society ... it's a recipe for disaster. But, yeah. There are some fuzzy areas. But it's like I told my daughter when she began hanging around some rather unsavory peers, even if you aren't doing anything wrong, but the people in the apartment are when the police show up, you'll probably go to jail, too. I'll stop there before the discussion goes off the rails. Oh, and car shows are really cool, bruh. |

Whether it is teaching discipline to your fury friends or kids, there is a measure of good folks (mean well) but do not seem to be able to provide the boundaries or direction needed.
In my office, customers occassionally bring their young children with them. There seems to be two kinds of parents: 1. Parent points to the office chair, with out uttering a word, and the kids get in the chair and are quiet. 2. Parent provides no direction and the kids are running around the office like wild animals opening desk drawers - going into the supply room grabbing stuff from the shelves. Everyone is free to pick their own dog raising and parenting style. It just would be nice if they conducted themselves respectfully in the presense of others. Bob Copeland
