Agreed, as long as the general ergonomics work for you.

Theayn, I had a V-Strom for a bit. It was big and comfortable, something akin to a Versys which is was more of a sports tourer, than an adv bike. Like you, I have back problems and the ability to sit up straighter with my feet in line with my hips was great. But in end, the weight killed it for me. I'm still a big SV650 fan, maybe some day I'll get another one and tweak the frame to suit me better.

Well... this happened for the third and I hope last time today.
Visiting friends just for a short moment, I take the steering lock key out for a bit of reassurance since the scoot will be in line of sight. Saying good by, I forget to put the key back in and when I make my first left turn and try to straighten out the steering locks. Bam... that hurts!!!!! At this rate, my elbow and shoulder will never heal.

...that I am currently unable to purchase this 1957 Nash Rambler sedan ('Saloon' for you English types) that I came upon today while returning the mother-in-law to her condo after a burger-basket-brunch in an outlying Black Hills town.

Far from perfect, but quite presentable, and best of all..... it's a Rambler, and it's two shades of green, with white...a tri-tone.

I'm not sure this qualifies as being pissed off, but I do think that the current fascination with "rawdogging" (the airline travel variety) seems just incredibly stupid.

What exactly are they trying to prove?

If you want to test your endurance, try riding a scooter (or motorcycle!) across the country instead. Sitting in an airplane seat and staring at the in-flight map proves nothing.

It's what my mother in law bought and now lives in after she sold the Iowa farm and moved here to be near us.

I learned the...um...proper way of referring to a 'sedan' from Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear, and also 'Coop-ay'.

Condo, short for "condominium", is an individually-owned flat. The term "condominium" really outlines the rules for how the overall building is collectively governed.

It's called a Sedan Chair. But since we've never had royalty, there aren't a lot of them around. I think Benjamin Franklin might have been carried around in one for a while, but that was mostly because he had gout.

I completely agree about "rawdogging" but I also feel the same way about this thread (one of my favorites) inasmuch as there are a lot of things I would like to post about that aren't necessarily "pissing me off" but aren't "cheering me up" either. I guess I could start an intermediate thread but I don't have the title worked out, or the nerve to do it.

Oh there's loads to choose from

What's slightly miffed me today?
What's got my back up somewhat?
What's grating me today?

In fact we could get a whole new thread going just with your thread title suggestions.

Chippieboy,

Sorry for the late response to your post about riding with the steering lock engaged.

How does that even happen? On my scoots, the wheel is turned to the right and can not be straightened out if the lock is engaged. Then when I put the key into to ride, it takes the lock off.

Is there a separate key for the lock? Hope you heal well.

It wasn't the CIA. It was the Secret Service and an early AR-15 with a heavy firing pin. Accidentally, of course.
