My tortilla "find." In my last days going through my home town finishing up business after I lost my mother, I discovered a nice, i.e. pretty well-stocked Mexican market. Saddened that I wouldn't be back there much, I also discovered another location near the city where our kid is in college, and we have friends. Stopped in a while back, and discovered a generous supply of fresh blue corn tortillas. Next time I came back to my hometown, stopped to pick up more of them. Thought I really had a great source of something rather unique...until I looked at the bag and noticed it really said nothing of "blue corn" but a lot about red dye #40, green dye, yellow dye....etc. Bastards.

I started making my own a while back, looks like if want good blue corn tortillas I will be making my own....

A little taco shop on Kauai used to make them, home made blue corn tortillas for their tacos. It was a little slice of heaven for awhile. The ship is still there, lat time I went they didn't offer it anymore. I admire this beyond the pale conversation, try Piki bread. Only place I know where to get it is in northern Arizona.
There was a lady making it on a facebook page from the Hopi reservation, let's just say any commercial chip products you like now will be forever ruined after having some piki.

People think their local food truck is uber cool, people in the southwest bring home cooking into their little trucks and trailers.

On the bright side, in a bit over a month we're off to spend Christmas in Mexico City with family for 10ish days which is pretty much the epicenter of Mexican cuisine, so I should become sated soon enough. One of my favorite places is a restaurant with a little tortilla bar with young ladies in ethnic dress making fresh tortillas.... If they're blue, I'm putting money on actual blue corn.

Second inside. it'll go about halfway around maybe a little further, then the sidewall refuses to budge to get the rest down in the wheel.

I like how you provided the image of genital and rectal licking, but decided to spare us the F-bomb and use 'ducking' instead.

The one and only time installed tires on my GTS it took two (inexperienced) people, two large tire irons of the persuasion variety, and a few of those tire spoons.

Is it the fact that you prefer not to trash the rim in the process. I recall this being a big factor in my frustration with the tire install... keeping the rim purty.

A few days ago I helped a neighbor install some tires on this old farm cart thing and we used everything including a 16lb sledge hammer.

The rims were old and rusty, so we gave two ducks about keeping them nice.

You need to sink the second bead further down in the wheel, so it gets in the smaller diameter region. It looks like you've installed the second bead ON THE BEAD of the wheel, which at this point is premature.

In the picture, push down on the tire at 6 o'clock, until it drops into the middle of the wheel, and the whole thing will loosen up.

If you're able (cuz we're old and stuff) kneel on the words City Grip while you wrangle the rest into position. Your knees will be your third hand here.

As above!!! You're so close. Oh, and BOTH beads need to be in the centre part of the rim.

Then use a ratchet-strap around the outer diameter to help the bead sit when you start to inflate it.

Fact! When installing tire using brute force, don't lube the other side. The dry rubber that's already on grabs the rim. Lemon squeeze

If can, bolt it to a huge piece of something to hold it in place.

Wear tough gloves, you want to try and snap it on, not push it. The bead is like a spring and will fight your efforts. It being metal will wear out muscle strength pretty fast.

A tight strap around the outside of the tire will spread the bead to fill the gap to the rim. Try it.

oh i tried the hell out of it. Ratchet strap was beyond tight, nearly took a finger off getting it cranked down.

there's no seal in the first photo so the air just comes right out as soon as it goes in. it won't build up pressure, imagine you have a tire with a big hole in it. same idea.

Having some macaroni and cheese whilst giving it a good solid mean-mug. Maybe it'll help idk.

You have to make sure the beads are centred as exactly as possible, and more soapy stuff too! You have to have a compressor with at least two gallons of accumulator, and set its output pressure regulator to maximum to get a good blast of air in.

What kind of compressor are you using?

Whenever I get a tough one like yours, I find it helps to remove the valve stem insert (for max airflow) and use a gas station compressor (again for max volume flow).

All very appreciated; how do i get the sidewall out where it should be though? The bead is in the middle of the wheel now, which is causing the enormous gap that's not allowing air to accumulate or build up any pressure to force the bead where it should be.

Basically the spot i stood on to get the bead toward the center of the wheel so that i could install the tire in the first place is now stuck in that position and there's enough of a gap that any attempt to put air in just results in the air whooshing right out again. I already tried the irons again to pry it outward but no luck.

If it was mine, I'd pop the beads off the rim, lube them both with actual bead lube (I use Bead Don but it may be out of production), and then seat them with that blast of air. The bead lube allows the tires to find their happy place.

both my 150 psi home compressor (10-gal) and the royal farms down the road.

removing the valve stem core just results in my tire-inflation tool not getting the center "button" activated to allow the air through the valve. gotta leave the core in.

This happens to me sometimes. Just keep trying, eventually the bead will shift and seal a bit against the wheel, and air pressure will start to accumulate in there. Once that happens you're on the final mile. Just be prepared for the bang....

removing the valve stem core just results in my tire-inflation tool not getting the center "button" activated to allow the air through the valve. gotta leave the core in.
I've been in your situation before. My 60 gallon home compressor sometimes won't put enough air in quick enough but the 80 gallon one at my work usually does it. Of course it puts out 180 psi when the tank is full. I have noticed tires will start to seal easier if they're warmed up a bit. It takes the vocabulary of an old sailor to get things going sometimes.
