Does anybody here have a Speedpro Cobra slip on?

I Like how the speedpro cobra looks and want to get one for my 2009 MP3 400.
What are your experiences with the speedpro slip on or any opinions about a Speedpro Cobra slip on.
and please do not suggest a different brand as I have no interest at all in any brand but Speedpro Cobra.
thank you too much.

I have used slip ons on 7 of my 18 motorcycles over the years without a problem or confusing the engine management. The MP3 is my first scooter so is the engine management different?

here is a good article

the ECU will relearn, many many many folks have used leo vince, akropovic, remus, malosi and a few other after market slip-on exhausts.

personally used an AK on mine from 2008 -2023 with no ill effects.

I do have the Akrapovic on my MP3 500. Saves a pound or two, sounds great and if anything the engine runs and pulls smoother. Never had an issue. It is also much faster and easier to remove/remount than the stock exhaust.

So true saves a pound or 2 but makes your wallet even lighter, does look nice though.

Thank you too much for those with good advice and opinions.
I just ordered the slip on and it was good timing indeed because before today I have not seen any codes but today a 10% off code popped up and I said hell yes.
I will post or at least try to post how this all works out from shipping from Germany to Florida, the pipe itself and if all goes well a video.

Indeed it does. I know it is silly indulgence, but hey. I am the first to tell people that, if you are looking for performance improvements, exhausts are definitely not a good investment. I fully admit I did it for the sound (but note it is perfectly legal).
I also thought it interesting the MP3 500 exhaust was more expensive than the Honda NC750X (which I also own).

I am very happy with this slip on. No problems at all throughout the process. Ordering was easy, shipping from Germany to Florida was very quick. Packaged perfectly. The install was mostly easy but no instructions of any kind, not even a picture.
The Speed Pro Cobra sounds good. Here is a video with the baffle still in. I will do another tomorrow with it removed.

side note: since I installed the corbin seat the sensor doesn't pick up right away. as seen in video.

Two questions for those who have swapped in aftermarket exhausts.

First: Red Circle
What is folks experience with this bolt and what to expect with removing it?

Does it have a nut on the other side that would fall off and be impossible to replace? Would the swing-arm fall down and be difficult to get back into position? This one bolt scares me because if it goes wrong I have to get a tow to the shop to recover. But this bolt is all that stands between me and a new exhaust. I have sufficient tools and knowledge to install the new exhaust bracket but not sufficient tools or knowledge to recover if that bolt becomes a problem.

Second: Blue Circle
Is there a carbon-gasket or other high temperature gasket that goes between the exhaust pipe and the slip-on? When I temporarily removed the old exhaust there was some form of carbon gasket helping to seal the gap between the exhaust and slip-on. What is this and is it required?

Sample of the LeoVince I have. Note the mounting bracket has an upper bolt that appears to overlap with the bolt circled in Red.

My error, I updated my post with a picture of the LeoVince Nero slip-on I have. The picture and manual depict the mounting bracket appearing to overlap the bolt circled in Red. I see no other documentation for the MP3 for it and the manual isn't very helpful on this.

yes you need to remove that bolt for the bracket, you should have been supplied with a new longer bolt to replace it from Leo vince

part 2 on the gasket; I know the akrapovic does not use any gasket I believe the leo v is the same in not using a gasket.

Hi Old as dirt
Thank you for the information, I believe I have the needed bolt.

Is there a nut or something on the other side that would drop free when the bolt is removed or does the bolt thread into something permanent and stable?

Do I need to support the swing-arm or take other precautions when swapping it?

The installation does not look too complicated, looks simple really, but if that bolt is a high risk or complicated swap then I'll have a professional shop do it.

no nut and it will not drop when only removing that bolt only. the bottom bolt on the swing arm will not let it drop.

On the gasket thing... it's graphite paste.

Akrapovic sends several of these "pre-formed" ones with their exhaust:

https://www.tradeinn.com/motardinn/en/akrapovic-graphite-gasket-ref:p-g28/137303874/p

But is am sure the regular stuff that comes in a tube works equally well.
