Hi guys, I think I will be using this forum a lot over the coming months, I've just purchased a vespa 2002 ET4 125 , ti be honest it's a right mess lol, but I've bought it for the thrill of stripping it down and rebuilding a nice machine, to be honest it's more for my mental health than anything, I really enjoy these types of projects, I've all the gear and no idea at the moment lol, I'm awaiting my new haynes manual which I can't wait to read, saddo yes I know lol, so I purchased it for ยฃ270 it's tatty with scratches all over it and it has a starting issue, basically the starter won't stop even when engine is running, my intentions are to get it working and clean it up,and respray it,can't wait to get down and dirty ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ˜€

That sounds like a bad starter relay. Easy enough to replace.

So I didn't really plan to get my rags on today and to be perfectly honest I didn't I just slipped into the garage equipped with my multimeter and a few tools, I tested to the really and it seemed to be functioning correctly the coil contacts was opening and closing as they should,I decided to look at the push start button, testing it confirmed it was OK,I decided to put my continuity tester on the plug that connects to the push button, straight away (with the relay in place) it appeared the circuit was closed, I decided to pull the relay and test again, hmm all of a sudden the circuit was open, what's your thoughts chaps ?

You already have a second hand loom. Why would you buy another one?
