I have a set of smallie gaskets I threw into my last Mercato order that I didn't even open.
Dunno where you are during the day, but I'll be in Houston (Hobby->Greenway Plaza->back to Hobby) on Thursday if you want to try and arrange the handoff.

Oh for sure!
The 3/28 deadline is 100% arbitrary and more for entertainment value and goal setting…. if I have to make another parts order (likely) I will order v2 plunger and swap the v2 cover back on. Will run the V2 on this build at the end of the day either way. |

Heck, all the recent smallframe action has been inspiring me to make good on my second 2022 resolution. A friend was recently hounding me about going to an event that is supposed to be the "last one". P'shaw, I'd heard that about High Rollers and Tucson-Nogales Fall Classics before. My counterargument is that my smallie had been inop for the entire history of said event and I was tired of back-burnering my own projects. |

Lots of small bits sorted after much grinding.
The repop gear and shifter pulleys were pretty much garbage, so I reused the pulleys off my donor Rally 200. Got the v2 push button for the clutch! Woot! Then we ran the correct front brake and speedo cables… Finished up with mounting the rear shock. Lots of small progress… tomorrow, we will effort to mount the headset and put the top end on the engine. ![]() Headset boogaloo

Seriously though, Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, let the deadline, sway your conviction to safety, and doing everything right and proper. As previously posted, the deadline is a good thing to have as an aiming point. Take your time, do it right, do it once. IF, the deadline is not met, I will pay your ham-bets off personally, should any takers come to collect!

But, the ham vaults... I must not have my stacks diminished!
Question for all you smallie builders... IIRC there is some drama associated with mounting the bellows and the carb intake mainfold. Anybody have a "best practices" for that bit? |

Also... back to the handlebars:
The gear and throttle pulleys from SIP were a very poor fit. So much so that the throttle pulley actually did not engage anywhere to create a throttle stop. Even bending the tab was futile. Avoid. Also of note. The pulleys and washer assembly I pinched from the Rally 200 headset included a spacer washer. Same OD and ID as the flat washer, but 3mm thick. Now, I am thick, but that said I have been unable to find that on SIP, SC, SM SW, etc. I can't even find in diagrams in OG piaggio publications. I suspect it's out there somewhere, but so far I cannot locate it. The washer that cannot be named. Pictured bottom right: ![]() ⚠️ Last edited by Birdsnest on UTC; edited 2 times

Not much drama for me.
Rubber bellows goes in frame; Hang motor from main pivot; Spray or rub silicone or some lubricant into the bellows cone and on the aluminum intake manifold piece; Pivot the motor with the intake manifold and it's aluminum piece installed into the bellows; Massage the bellows from inside the frame to slide past the lip on the aluminum piece. Done. |

Your picture was eaten by a recent change to the MV backend code, so I'm not sure which washer you mean.
For the throttle pulley, I can send you the OG pulley from the Smallstate next week after I get home if you want it (and assuming it would solve your problem). It would only get my carb to about half throttle. |

Thank you for the offer ...using the one off my Rally seemed to have worked. So, until I try (if I try) and resurrect that Rally. No need. But again, thanks. |

Hmm...the picture is there now, but had an error message to the effect of "User supplied image with no descriptive text" or something along those lines. I've seen it before a couple times when I used the [ img ] tag recently rather than uploading.
As to the washers, looks like you're pointing to the wavy washer? That one is there on my GL and VBB. It was not there on the Smallstate, just the two flat washers. On the shift tube, I have a totally different set of washers. There's a tabbed washer that fits into a hole/notch on the shifter pulley and one other. There's also a spacer/washer between the headset and shift tube itself out by the grip. If there was a wavy washer on there, it's been lost to the sands of time. |
