kidding - rental companies will charge you $200 for a wheel scratch - but apparently are unable to detect odor.

Contrast that with the TSA - who in fact are all about odor.

It was the DOD primavera that Chandlerman posted up a few weeks back. I became an unsuspecting buyer a few days after sending an initial inquiry. Seller was tired of tire kickers and said he appreciated my direct and honest inquiry. He and his family were ace… just that straight talking and kind midwestern folk. (Just like Gick!) made the buy even more fun.

I seriously, seriously thought about trying to scoop that thing. I've done the drive from Nashville to Saugatuck and back and know it can be done in a long day each way.

That thing is gorgeous and I love love LOVE that orange paint. I wouldn't have felt the slightest urge to paint it, which is saying a lot for me.

Smallies are another one of those things where, once you try them, you never go back.

it's fine line on the asking pleading for forgiveness over getting permission in that you can only get away with playing dumb so many times. tools and parts you can explain, but whole ass bikes are a tough sell when your SO waives their hands over a fleet of busted down machines and says: what about all these then?!? hmmm?

the worst part is when the department of the interior calls for a full accounting and you just know that the part of the bill you owe is gonna wind up being something like repaving the driveway or a new dinette set that you don't want or need.

Other than the green Stella, the entire herd is running & rideable these days, so I could dodge that bullet, other than the fact that she doesn't understand why I "need" all those scooters when I can only ride one at a time. At least the white Stella is nothing but a memory at this point, so I'd be covered there.

As to the full accounting...you pretty well nailed it there, even if I don't know what would go in the "we need a ____________________" blank.

Afterthought #2.... Why is it that White Castles stop in St Louis. I mean it's like an invisible force field holding them back from migrating the franchise any further west? We hoped to grab a few sliders around Joplin while listening to the beastie boys but alas we had passed every single white castle in the midwest. *sighs*

My stomach is probably thankful for that peculiarity.

Afterthought #3... Strangely, this bike which was rarely ridden by the 2 prior owners (and while, allegedly, never having major mechanical work done) is first kick.

Bill of Sale From Vespa of San Francisco is dated 1975 and they charged 875.00 plus tax. Can you imagine?

Afterthought# 5... Just noticed the guilty look on the interns faces from a pic I posted yesterday. They had just spied the neighbors cat in the garden behind me and wanted to give chase. I made them sit/stay... hahahahahha
