Im not too bad with tools and have done some general maintenance on the Scooter in the past. I have a 2014 Piaggio 150 FLY ie v3.

Im hoping to save a bit of money by undertaking service intervals myself. Anything heavy duty like tyre changes or engine issues I'll take in but the mainstream servicing seems doable.

Am I digging myself a hole for potential resale value? As I wont have service book stamps.

Has anyone else decided to service their Scooters themselves. What's been your experience??

Thanks in advance!

Do it. It's dead easy. Oil changes, plug, filter etc. Super easy. Transmission service will save you lots of money.
Thanks to YouTube you don't even have to buy a book.

There are repair manuals in the wiki here, and that will help a lot. Youtube videos are a good way to learn, but always check the information as far as capacities, and procedures against the manual, just to be safe.

it's going to have absolutely zero effect on resale value.

No problem doing it yourself. Special tools you need include variator and clutch holding tools, a torque wrench, and an impact wrench ( not necessary, but makes the job very easy)

Oil changes are dead simple easy, they should be a no brainer.

Belt changes on the Fly will require some removal of plastic panels. some of the transmission bolts are hiding and you have no access. You'll need a couple of specialty tools (Clutch holder, Variator holder, Torque Wrench), but those items will pay for themselves the 1st time you use them.

Doing the maintenance yourself allows you to save money, get to know your machine well and have fun (it's satisfying work).

Thank you all,

These tips are really appreciated

Luckily I have most if not all the specialty tool required as I refurbished my clutch shoes after severe shuddering after takeoff so it made me think that I can definitely go the extra mile and service the whole bike myself. Yes it definitely is satisfying work.
Thank you all again.

... Unless the OP accidently sets the bike on fire while working on it.

I mean, yeah. that's kind of an all encompassing rule of thumb.
