Keyless knob wont turn off

I have the glove compartment off to install heated grips. (23 gts)

The keyless knob was in the on position so i could verify a switched power tap for them, and couldnt get it turned back off. Then the knob fell out.

Any thoughts? Facepalm emoticon

(Yes i've tried reinserting it and it won't turn, and it immediately falls right back out again)
