HI, as you know, my Vespa is a wreck. I will start rebuilding in January, but now I am trying to repair the damaged parts when I have free time. I just repaired the steering column lock. It was damaged in that one pin that goes into the lock lock was broken off. You can see the difference in the photo.

I bought a used set: ignition switch, lock with key and lock insert. At this point I had two chip keys. I could make a new key for the purchased cylinder, but it would be a high cost due to making the key according to the cylinder and programming the chip. I could also buy a new lock with new keys and program the key, but.....
I repaired locks in my previous scooters many times, so I decided to try once again to transfer the insides of the lock - from the old damaged one to the new one, so that it would be fully functional. It's not too difficult, all what you need are good fingers, glasses and a lot of light
here we go.....

Of course, you can also insert the old key into another cylinder and file the latches, but I do not recommend this method because the latches will not hold well in the lock cylinder.

Finally, you can pour some graphite into the lock or inject a silicone funnel. Greasy oil catches dust and dirt and later the latches get stuck in the lock.

Good luck
