Hi have recently got a lml star deluxe 2T and I'm putting an vespa p200e into it. On the log book it says make SD. It should say make LML and model Star deluxe. I sent the logbook back with a letter pointing it out but I got a letter asking me to get a letter off the manufacturer and send it to them and I can use it as a SD in the meanwhile. They sent me the logbook back as the
Make SD. The manufacturer shut its factory some years back they don't make LML no more. I tried to get it on my insurance but they said the info is wrong on the logbook to contact the DVLA. The frame number comes up as a LML star deluxe 2T and the engine. DVLA should have check this and found this out. When I put the frame number in google search I get LML star deluxe. DVLA want me to get a letter off LML to prove it's a LML 😆. WTF am I going to do

I told them that. My insurance company will not cover it.

only the one I'm using with my other scooter. I think I might get it sorted now. I got a photo off a guy of his logbook. It shows the first 9 numbers and letters of his frame number is the same as mine. I'm going to get it printed out and send it to DVLA with a letter. In the letter I will tell them if they put the frame numbers in google search they will see lml come up. I took screenshots of the search and the sites to send to DVLA to make it easy for them to understand. They are lazy or shit at their job. I'm
not the brightest guy as you can see by my grammar but I can use the internet to find out my scooter is a LML star deluxe so I can't see why they can't.

It's not a new scooter and was insured before.
I've certainly never shown a v5 to an insurance company. If the registration comes up on their system, surely that's enough.
Which company you using?

If you can stand a long wait to get through on the phone, this could be a good move. I had a catch 22 issue with registering an imported scoot. I spoke to a knowledgeable person who explained the best course of action. I got it registered just fine after that.
Problem is staff numbers at DVLA have been cut back so much it's grindingly slow if you've got to wait for to and fro of mail.

. I will do but I'm trying one more time I've already posted my letters today. I got a photo of another lml owner logbook to show the first 9 numbers of the frame number is the same as mine and I got a photo of my frame number and two screenshots printed to show if you put the frame number in Google you see lml star comes up. I've sent all that with a letter so hopefully they will understand. If they don't they must be lazy or fick.

They are not behind on there work because they are short of staff like people are saying. They are really bad at their job. My scooter they only got to put the first 9 numbers of my frame number in google search and they would see it's a LML Star deluxe. What the hell they doing. Going for coffee and fag breaks every 5 minutes. As I said above I ent the brightest guy here as you can tell by my grammar but even I can use the internet and find my scooter is a LML star deluxe. If they still can't sort it out after all the photos and info I've sent and pointing out they will find what my scooter is by putting my frame number in google search I will be putting a complaint in. They are lazy or f in stupid.

I used to use Bennents many years ago. When they wouldn't insure one of my newer bikes as it only had a factory datatool immobiliser, I went with another company.

OP, you can 'find out' allsorts on the internet, but it proves nothing...
There's a protocol they have to follow, and it likely isn't Googling.

Like I said, actually talk on the phone to someone there, explain the situation and get their advice. Be polite with them, someone will know what to do/ what you should supply to get the documentation you require sorted. They most certainly aren't sat on their arses as you suggest on here.

I have had a lot of people tell me loads of mistakes DVLA have been making lately. Not one have had a good word to say about them. If they can prove everyone wrong I will have good things to say about them.

I'm sure you will work it out.

Speedy is a N.Z. built VBC, which has a 4-digit chassis number.

It's niw in Australia, which requires more digits... so it's chassis number is the same as it's engine number, and engraved on a set of dogtags with the end bent over so it kinda looks square on 1-end... no worries!

Sorry guys I forgot to update my issue. It's sorted I got in touch with some guys from the Vespa club of Britain and I sent them photos of the scooter, frame numbers and my log and they helped me. They sent me a letter to send to dvla so I sent it and dvla corrected my log book and sent it me. It cost a small fee for the letter but it was worth it.
