I lost the dipstick out of my 2008 mp3 250 ie Covered everything in oil by the time I stopped. Managed to get another one but it is miles too long. Hoping somebody with my model can stick a ruler on theirs next time they check their oil and give me the correct measurement. I have a hacksaw blade which will soon make it the correct length. Metric or Imperial measurements both are acceptable

The problem is I live in country Australia. Most Vespa shops are in the city mostly have to buy stuff off ebay and sold by sellers who have little idea of the multiplicity of models piaggio produces.

well you can drain all the oil, then measure out the amount your suppose to have in there and put that in. Then the level is correct and you can measure the full mark on your new longer one you have and cut the bottom oh say an inch lower and use about half that distance as your minimum level mark.

Buy a used one from the guy in Sydney who advertises on gumtree. I've bought a few parts of him over the years. Just search vespa on gumtree, he has ads for vespa gts parts. A gts 250 or 300 dipstick is what you need.

Vespa 125, 150, 200, 250, 300, Derbi 125, 150, 250, Aprilia 250, 300, Piaggio 125, 150, 200, 250 and 300 all use the same dipstick. Unless they are HPE or 3 valve. If the engine is a Quasar or Leader, it will use the same dipstick as your MP3 250
