The first switch covers for the GTS MY23 are available in black glossy or matt or cabon on Ali. I can't say anything about the quality and fit. In any case, the tedious conversion of the switch units is required...

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806095907447.html

There are rumors that an Austrian dealer will also have black switch units available in the next few days. Whether these come from the same source or are perhaps of better quality remains to be seen.

That's annoying... after I found the German link, I looked for the link for English US/Dollar, but I couldn't see that this product is not shipped to the USA. Sorry!

If anyone in the US needs it, and can't find an option that works for you guys, they ship to Canada. I would be willing to receive some and then ship to them to the US at cost.

In the German forum there is a note that the photos on Ali do not show any fixing points for the individual switches (as with the original Piaggio chrome covers).

I'm excited to see the first field reports when the things arrive...

Possible…

In Germany, in addition to DIY customers, there are some dealers who have them disassembled and painted at customer's request and at least one who offers to rebuild the switches and paint the housings in exchange (send chrome in, receive black a few days later). Service is charged with 220€ including shipping (Germany)
https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/schaltereinheiten-schwarz-glaenzend-matt-vespa-gts-my23/2570724369-298-2067

Don't know if this service is available to other countries.

I think these are a skin rather than a full replacement of the plastic trim. I have a set on order so will report back when they arrive.

As long as the origin of the switch panels shown on insta is not known, there is no point in philosophizing about it.

Let's wait until the first customers have received the China stuff and then we'll see.

So the shipment of the switch covers arrived here in Melbourne fairly quickly. Quality of the finish is pretty good, to my eye as good as what's on the bike now.

They are the full thickness covers rather than just a skin to go over the old ones. They don't have any fixing points for the switches etc at the back so I will need to work out how to do that.

When I try and fit will work out then how good the fit is of them.
Gloss black looks good

No! The German word "Feder" (sing.) / "Federn" (plural) has a double meaning "spring" and/or "feather". And maybe google can't translate correct/get the correct meaning because original German post contains Austrian plural for "small springs" / "small feather" ("Federln"), which is not in German dictionary…

Some of the switches contain springs. As these are under tension or keep the individual components of the switches under tension, small parts can quickly fly around (and possibly get lost).

Tip: Dismantle each individual switch in a small plastic bag to minimize the risk and assign the individual components to the respective switch.

Work with patience…

BGM PRO switch covers in black glossy:

In contrast to the Chinese version, the BGM cover comes with the internal mounting points for the individual switches.

First of all: I have not yet seen the bgm switch covers live.

The original switch covers in chrome consist of two glued plastic parts (white on the inside for fixing the switches and a chrome cover on the outside).

With the Chinese version linked above, the switches have to be removed and the two plastic parts separated. The outer chrome part is replaced by the black cover, the white inner part is reused and the switches are reinstalled.

With the bgm version, you get the inner part together with a black outer cover, but unfortunately I don't know whether these are two parts like the original or just one part. In any case, it should be easier with the bgm version, even if the removal and installation of the switches remains complex enough.

The unit itself is attached as a whole (i.e. inner and outer parts together).

I will cautiously await until a list member installs them. They look good, I hope they fit as the originals do.

FWIW, I took the light/front end plastic off several times when I was installing heated grips (one was defective, got replaced under warranty from Koso). There were several tiny screws that held the chrome switch base to the white plastic headpiece. On the right side, I could not get one small screw to sit like it did before I took it apart. Hence the reason I kept pulling it apart.

I finally left off the screw, there are four or five othered that held the chrome switch piece in place. Without the screw, it nestled in the grooved area in the headpiece as it was designed.

It fits great now.

zooming on the photos on SC the bgm looks like two parts glued together not a single part.

The switches are inserted through the white inner part and the outer cover, the screws hold the switches in the white inner part which is glued to the outer cover.

Agree, the screws hold the whole piece in place. The screw that is below the purple wire is the one that didn't fully tighten down on reassembly. Not sure what I did wrong.

The smaller the automotive plastic, the more you don't even have to do anything wrong for it to be a pain in the ass.

If I even look at something tiny and plastic on my 2006 F150, there's a chance it'll crack lol

This is TC from Vespa Motorsport and Scooterwest in San Diego. Just a quick F.Y.I., Robot has already spoken with our overseas vendors, and should be receiving samples sometime soon. He will do a full analysis of the parts, and then, if they pass muster, will do a complete video for his Youtube Channel, detailing the parts, along with detailed installation instructions.

Happy Holidays gang!

There is now a German video that explains how to dismantle and reassemble the individual switches. Unfortunately there are no English subtitles, but at least you can see what you are getting into.

If you use the aliexpress covers linked above, the white inner part must be removed from the chrome-colored covers (unlike the bgm) and glued into the China covers!

In an earlier video, he shows how to remove/install the switch units itself.

It looks like putting a Lego kit together . The video answers my question as how to pop the buttons off.

My fear is breaking a tiny piece inside while disassembling, and the dealer doesn't have it in stock.

As far as I understand it, the switches cannot be ordered individually. Only the entire unit right or left (approx. 150€ each).

So it's better not to break anything.

Yes, I also read that and saw it in the video.

While the video (Chris from v-hangar on the modification video) stated that the paint quality on the bgm-covers was ok and that the edges may need to be reworked or the accuracy of fit for individual switches may need to be slightly reworked, the feedback from forum participants is more critical (the reworking effort seems to be greater or the overall paint quality not so good after all).

Chris from v-hangar suggests that later batches may be of better quality.

Personally, I haven't had them in my hands yet, so I can't comment on this.
