what counts as an explosion? so many things happen in chandlerman's world, this is not a simple question. i assume moderator judgment is involved.

Definitely a fair question. I figure that it should be judged by the same criteria as an OSHA "Work Stop Accident."

Much less than that and it'd mostly just be a counter for the number of days since I last set foot in my workshop. Or leave it at zero. Whichever is easier.

Incident implies something "interesting" happened. Or maybe something comedic. In a Mel Brooks, "Tragedy is when I stub my toe, comedy is when you fall in an open manhole and die," kind of way, of course.

Hate to even suggest this, but maybe we should have a betting pool? You know, an over/under on the explosion date, the part that gets destroyed, the number of stitches? Lots of possibilities!

The Smallie may have tried to kill me, but the GL is the one that almost succeeded.

The Stella caught itself on fire on my watch and the SprintV is the one that set *me* on fire, albeit with the propane heater as an accomplice.

A black Bajaj tried to end me at a stop light during Slaughterhouse one year, but mostly took out its own rider.

And finally, there was a lot of speculation that the VBB would get me during the first motor rebuild, but it never did. Give it time, though.

Once my wrist & thumb finally heal (that counter is already at about 160 days... if ya gonna hurt yourself, do it proper-like!), I'll need one for "how many kms since Speedy last had a catastrophic failure!

Update...small trash can fires don't reset the counter. That is all.

Can we get counter that counts down until the next explosion?

I'd be down for that, but I know that most people read my posts for the same reasons they go to NASCAR races: the Bad Decisions and Crashes, and if you know when they're coming, it kind've kills the fun.
