Fun fact. In Iceland both scooters and mopeds are called "Vespa ".

I'm not surprised. Most people will look at anything that looks like a scooter at all and will call it a Vespa. It's a term they know and are too lazy to bother,

It can also be caused by lack of words in Icelandic to describer scooters and mopeds.

I can understand that. I should have been more clear: Most Americans will look at a scoot and call it a Vespa. I think most European would know better.

Those are some great scooter pics from Saigon (the locals still call it that...) in THE GUARDIAN. We were there in November. I'm posting a pic I took of just one street corner in downtown Saigon. There were scoots EVERYWHERE!
