Ha, you overestimate our cleverness.

Long shadows growing in here in Laguna … had to sort electrical gremlins on the Unicorn.

Est. departure time still uncertain… coming along though.

Ned generously said I was under no obligation to stay and sort it out. So at 2:00 I did the math and decided I'd like dinner in SLO. I figured they wouldn't be that far behind. I get hangry, what can I say?!?!

Even so I didn't make the evening ride. Probably 50 scoots blasted by as I took a walk over to Chipotle. Gonna be big tomorrow.

No such luck. We are here, though, enjoying the lovely cold rain and wind.

Hopefully we will emerge in the morning like the chrysalis from its cocoon into a lovely sunny spring day. That or we'll just be wet.

Couldn't have met a nicer bunch of guys from NSM! Only got to spend an hour and a half there this morning but was totally worth it to see the crew and the scoots. Going to be bring my GS next year. The others I met were just as cool.

Definitely a great time, albeit a bit rainy in places. Once the weather decided to cooperate, though, it was an excellent time.

SoCal's P200 was a champ, not even complaining when I jumped on the 101 with it for almost 20 miles, not once but twice.

I had one exciting moment on a downhill hairpin turn in a downpour. Wound up in about a 45 degree skid, sliding toward the edge of a cliff. Luckily I managed to recover before this story had to be told about me in the third person. Luckily, I was NOT riding too fast for the conditions, but still a little more excitement than I really needed.

Only a few scooters showed up for the ride. We sat around for a while watching the rain. Eventually the ride was canceled.

I'm actually a ghost, but I manifest pretty well. Razz emoticon

I 100% agree. Putting real faces and names to usernames was hands-down the best part of the trip.

It was awesome getting to meet BajaRob (who rode all the way up to SLO to bring me the Justin Case), even though I've never actually forgotten a cotter pin (As we all know, I'm much more innovative than that when it comes to scooters and destruction).

Getting to see FNG, SDJohn, CM2, SoCal, as well as other old friends, plus all the other new friends I made along the way is always just excellent.

I got to do some serious wrenching on SoCal's P200, help CM2 re-assemble The Unicorn, help multiple other riders with everything from sorting a clutch to diagnosing electrical and carb issues to rescuing another rider who'd run out of gas.

SoCal's P200 was a champ. I had it WOT three times on the 101 for 15, 15, and 20 miles and was loving every minute.

One thing I loved was how unique all the bikes were. While there were some of the nicest resto's I've seen, especially the Rally's for whatever reason, even with 150+ bikes, I don't think any two were the same.

To all of you who could only be with us in spirit, know you were missed and start planning earlier next year.
A full two week supply of cotter pins! So thoughtful!
