Thanks Jack for the link to that thread. It's all becoming clearer to me now, even as I grow more confused. Will chime in at that thread now so as to stop taking this thread so far O/T.

I've been following along, all good stuff! I usually stop at stage 2 myself. Only time I've dialed the timing was when I had my VW Beetles.

I dont think its a dark art... definitely a timing consuming art though!

I see it more like a bunch of data points, more like data science. process of elimination... there can only be a finite amount of combos to make it work.

I definitely set ignition timing now before theres fuel in the carb.

Trying to recover some time that was invested in being a human Dyno...

Anyways back to PX gearing...

Okay, so took my super on a trip the other weekend doing a variety of roads... mostly fine with the gearing, the 221 sport had enough torque to pull through all situations but it would've struggled with a pillion. I ended up taking a major hwy home and was very happy that I was doing speeds around 62-65mph GPS.

My engine setup as follows...

210 Malossi Sport kit (plug n play)
SIP 60mm crank 125/5 timing
24/24SI with supported mods
SIP road 2.0
standard PX200 gear box
24/65 clutch/primary

I guess my only thought would be to maybe go a short 4th but I do go on the hwy a fair bit and not sure how that would affect it, would definitely be good for carrying a pillion though. Hope this helps you Rob.

Thanks for the report! I'm trying the SI26 and my case is already port matched to the cylinder. Going to try the short 4th with the 24 on the clutch. Too many decisions!
