I miss my lunch break scooter sessions. That was a tough scoot!

Spree's are tough for arguably being the cheapest and weakest 2T scooter Honda has sold in the US.

I have an '85 model, it makes 2.5 horsepower and it weighs about 87lbs. The one you were yeeting into LEO looks to be an '84 or '85 as well. Impressed you got the speed to loft it that high and that the frame didn't buckle.

Favorite scooter memory was the second test ride on my '81 P200E after rebuilding the clutch with Malossi plates and new springs, plus fitting a SIP Road 2 box exhaust.

I was riding down Craycroft Road with my buddy (on his Stella Atomic Fireball) and we were sitting at the traffic signal on Speedway Boulevard. A guy pulled up next to us in a white '90s Crown Vic, put his window down and called out, "Do a wheelie!"

I looked over at the guy, smirked and nodded. John says to me, " Don't. Just don't." As the cross traffic light turned red, I revved the P's motor. On green, I leaned forward and dropped the clutch...up came the front wheel. I'd gotten lucky and fed just enough throttle as to not wear the scoot as a hat so I stayed in it all the way across the intersection before closing throttle to shift to second.

It was exhilarating and a bit terrifying, as I'd never tried to wheelie a scooter, yet I just somehow pulled one off. As I pulled up to the next light at 5th Street, I caught and collected myself.

The guy in the Crown Vic pulled up again, this time laughing and gave us a thumbs-up. I looked over to him, smiled, and responded thusly:

"OK, your turn."
