I've always been a Moto Guzzi guy when it comes to motorbikes. I made the mistake of test riding the new V100 Mandello and just loved the speed, handling and stopping. It made my Bellagio feel absolutely primitive. I loved my Bellagio but it made me realise what I'd been missing out on all these years. Was determined to buy the V100 but then started thinking about what else is on the market. After a bit of research, I pulled the pin on the new Ducati Monster SP. Has very similar specs to the Guzzi with top of the line Brembo brakes and Ohlins suspension but is a massive 50kg lighter and cost $11,000AU less. Was a no brainer in the end. Even though it's not as pretty as the Guzzi and has less character (subjective I know), it's a phenomenal bike. Is so easy and safe to ride and goes like buggery!

Nice one Bobo, character in a bike is vastly overated and can easily be rectified by adding a new exhaust end can.

Congrats. Let's not sell short a 930cc Ducati L-Twin when it comes to character, it's no slouch either.

Nice, congrats!
I've always liked the concept of Monsters, never had one. Although mayby not so loud and quirky as the old ones , it is easy to believe that a modern Monster is a very nice bike to ride. |

Bobo,
Congrats - beautiful machine. Those Italians have style and class. When I arrived in Italy 53 years ago, I had never even heard of Ducati. Friends introduced me to a local Italian Motorcycle Shop in Pozzuoli and I bought a 1971 Ducati 350 Scrambler. Good luck with your beautiful new Ducati, I have fond memories on mine.
