This was my favorite hat. like an idiot, I sold it and still kind of regret it. I really need to make a new one.

Although I've posted several 'favorite' hats in this thread, my true favorite 'hat' is generally the one I'm wearing at the time.

In truth, for daily use, I only wear a Walmart-sourced, under $5, baseball-style cap with no imprint, brand, embroidery, etc emblazoned on it's crown front.

When available and in stock at Wally-World, I will buy several at a time, and thus can maintain a generous supply of them in reserve, as in my 'New and fresh cap drawer'.

Black and dark blue are always preferred, but other colors are acceptable too....occasionally.

I do have several 'printed' caps, but two of them were cheesy giveaways with past motorcycle purchases, and one I actually bought out of nostalgia for a childhood ice cream shop that is still operating in my home town of Pipestone, Minnesota.

First there was the Wasp-a-torium, and now, I present....(drum roll here)....the 'Capeteria'...

To be honest, I look stupid in a hat. The bucket hat I mentioned earlier is the one exception.

I've generally got a hat on unless I'm somewhere that a hat would be very inappropriate. I THINK I could still grow a full head of hair, but I decided years ago that it's easier to shave it than to keep it combed, so it's been a long time since I let it grow enough to be sure.

I do not wear a hat every day. Only on days I haven't showered and have to go out in public, or if it's raining, or extremely cold, or extremely sunny and I will be outside.

Also, I have a full head of hair at the age of 56. Both of my brothers, age 59 and 54.5, are both essentialy bald. The younger one barely has hair on the sides & back, while the older one's hair pattern is extremely thin. Neither one wore hats regularly in their youth. I just got lucky. I also only have that grey patch on my beard, and random grey hairs on my head - not enough to be salt & pepper.

"What is this doing in here?" he said, rifling through a box of junk by the door.

"I was going to donate it," she said.

"Well, I definitly want to to keep it."

"But you never wear it."

"Maybe so, but I need to know it's there if I need it."

Darling Bride and I have had that conversation about my t-shirt with the same message on it. Sometimes, it's just easier to let people know up front...

JBlacklund,

You are one organized ball hat guy. My bride and I keep the house prety picked up and clean. But, I just throw my hats on the upper shelf of the coat closet by the back door. The skill is tossing them up with just the right loft and spin so they don't fall down.

Nice set of hats.

I've built up a small collection of logo less baseball caps. My favorite is the Stormy Kromer on top. If you're ever in Northern Michigan, you will see many versions of the Stormy, especially in winter.

Motonirvanna,

Thanks for expanding my vocabulary - I did not know that cap was called a Stormy Kromer. I even looked it up online.

Thanks again.

FOUND IT!

This is the only hat I've actually worn for non-utilitarian purposes in the last 30 years. Lot of good memories in this hat, mostly skating related.
