If you are there - you lucky dog. That place for me is long long ago, far far away. Beauiful drive. That place kind of makes you slow down, pinch yourself to make sure this is real. Remember, those Southern Italians call it macaroni not pasta.

I plan to be staying in Sorrento for several days in June. I will be riding a scooter in that area for sure.

Sorry for the delayed post. I was looking back on this thread and thought of you. When I was there last with the family, we rented 2 Vespa 50s and had a ball riding them. I think I found the rental service online. They delivered and picked up the scooters right to our hotel. They also provided helmets for all four of us. Italy requires helmets.

If you take advantage of renting, the road up to Ravello from Amalfi is amazing.Two up on my Vespa 50 - the scooter overheated climbing the mountain. Not to worry, I know Vespas, just let it sit and cool and you are off again.

hi Bob - I've already found several places to rent a scooter, I think it'll come down to finding one close to our hotel.

It's only a bit over 2 hours to Salerno, so a full day rental should be sufficient for me and allow me to explore quite a bit.

I lived ashore North of Naples for four yeas in the USN. You have a lot of time off. So I would live on the Amalfi Coast all the time.
