Glad you asked!

Lessee...we have two small, formerly frozen, microwave beef and bean burritos, the last two eggs in the Coolerator (fried hard with butter), and the last sliced hamburger bun that was laying about on the kitchen counter, toasted to perfection and also slathered with butter.

And coffee.

As for birthday presents, I bought myself an old, black, dial telephone and an equally old gas pump handle on eBay...

I don't know what I'll do with the phone, but I plan on seeing if I can use the gas pump handle to hold a microphone at the top of a mic stand, the base being a weighted whitewall scooter tire. Rockabilly heaven...even if I don't play anything like rockabilly.

Folgers Black Silk, made strong in a $20 Mr. Coffee.

I used be something of a coffee snob, buying roasted beans and grinding them as needed. Then we went through our Keurig stage, wore out two of those (they only last a year and a half or so before going to hell).

Then we 'got smart' (IMO), went to Walmart and bought the cheapest multi-cup Mr. Coffee machine we could find, $20, and pound cans of Folgers Black Silk, the dark strong stuff (on sale whenever possible) and have been happily caffeinated ever since.

Are you by any chance 65 today?

4,100,000 Americans are turning 65 this year. 11,200 a day. I was born in December so I just barely missed it. Peak 65.

Happy birthday and many many more!
No, a bit further along the old path than 65...73 to be precise about it. I want to complain about arriving at that lofty number of times around the sun, but won't, at least publicly, because of those who couldn't.

It's all 'frosting on the cake', and is from day one.

Here are a couple of possibilities for the phone:

Turn it (and another) into an intercom: Two Way Ringdown Circuit

- or -

Get yourself an old-skool crossbar switch:

I'll admit to having an old phone at home. Western Electric 302, metal body, December '41 production. I used to have it hooked up and it startled the heck out of younger folks when it rang.

I need to get an ATA that supports pulse dialing.

Feliz cumpleaños, Señor Backlund.

You would have a hard time finding a Xbar switch any where but a museum these days. I had a bit of practice adjusting these when I worked in exchange installation last century all superseded by SPC exchanges these days but very reliable when compared to the step by step switches they replaced.

A big happy birthday for yesterday John, that breakfast looks Mmmmmm 🤔 quite, well Aaaaa lets just say hope you enjoyed it Bleh emoticon .

73 and many more of them🎂, 73 Wha? emoticon f*ck that's old 🤣 lets hope the eyes don't fail and the fingers stay nimble cos your posts are always full of humor and wit keep it up.😉👍

I've tried Googling this but cant find the answer, perhaps a Wiseman like yourself can, Once turned 70 do your teeth start falling out, your nasal and ear hair grow faster than the hair on your head, the trash bin goes out more times than you and that when using the toilet involuntary sounds are made when the body has to exert a bit of pressure 🤣
