Modern Vespa

My Dad is moving and has a 1962 Vespa 150 GL is his barn that he ported from Italy in the early 1990s. I want to restore it to cruise around town (Florida, USA). He has no title and it would require mirror and front and rear blinkers in Florida to be street legal. Are there any kits to get an old Vespa street legal in the US that don't look like shit? Anyone have any luck getting a barn find titled?

Why would it require turn signals and mirrors to be street legal. . . Being that it is 1962 and was NEVER sold with them?

From what I can tell, It's more than 50 cc and is considered a motorcycle under Florida law. Motorcycles have to have those things to pass inspection and get titled/registered.

What he said. No such thing in the UK, if it didnt come with them originally, not testable and road legal. We use the old school highway code hand signals for non indicator models.

Antique moto in florida will not require mirrors or turn signals or reflectors.

Title... you can probably get a bonded title of some sort in Florida just like almost every other state. Will require proper forms, maybe a surety bond, maybe a vin inspection. Google is your friend there. Bottom line: it is done all the time. Will be about effort and money... like most things.

If you're really worried/struggling on the title, Saints Cycle Works has a title service which many folks on here have used successfully.

I went through a significantly more challenging title process with my GL (it'd been stolen, the VIN ground off, and then the shippers lost all the paperwork) but was still able to eventually get it titled here in the lawless wastes of Tennessee.
