I've spent over an hour researching and I am really struggling to figure out what part number these bolts are, so that I can replace one that seized. It's hard to tell from the parts diagram because I haven't yet taken a carb apart and it's not obvious which bolts/screws are the ones I need. Please help! Crying or Very sad emoticon

I'm looking for a hex bolt, stamped with AL 10.9, with ~quarter inch of no threading at the top. These are the bolts that attach to the reed and hold the carb in place, that must be undone when removing the carb.

Thank you so much! This is driving me crazy.

it's M6X1

measure the length from the shoulder of the cap head to the end and that's what you'll need. a *good* hardware store should have one.

or order one online:
https://www.mcmaster.com/products/screws/hex-head-screws~/medium-strength-metric-class-8-8-steel-flanged-hex-head-screws/

however, it's a common size found on our bikes-- and several others. a trip to your local service center and asking nicely might turn up exactly what you need.

I had a chance to yank one off a motor and measure. 25mm

so it's shorter than a common transmission cover bolt, but I'm betting a trans cover bolt would work if that hole is tapped all the way down.

if you use a poking device to check the depth and then measure it up to what bolts are kicking around you might get lucky.
