Modern Vespa

Hello,

I am trying to replace the points on my Sprint 150. I got the points off, but can't remove the brass post that they sit on. The new set looks like the post is a different design, so I would like to replace the whole assembly.

The post (pointed in the photo) has two notches at the base that are 6.6mm between flats. I can't find a tool that would go over this - the best I can think of is a tiny c-spanner, but access on the sides will make that really difficult.

For now, it is soaking in PB blaster - hopefully this will loosen it up enough to pull with pliers. I have already chewed it up with the pliers enough, and don't want to make it worse.

wouldn't it be easier to just use the correct points?
