I have a 2007 Vespa 250ie GTS. Over 10 days, I did some long deferred maintenance: replaced tires, changed fluids, replaced instrument cluster, removed all accessories (racks, cowls and lamps), and gave it a good compounding. I put it all back together and have two of these leftover… I cannot figure out where they belong. Any help out there?

Air cleaner - top two fasteners to close box . Easy to scrape the back of hands while replacing screwing them in.

OK, you both proved to be pretty good in round one of "Place That Part". How about a lightning round for the championship? I have this one small octagonal nut remaining. It most certainly fits in a small collar somewhere, but I don't recall replacing any bolts that didn't get traction. Any ideas?

I'm at the office, but parts diagrams suggest it might be from the small cowling at the rear tip of the floor board...I'll see when I get home.

Can you help me diagnose why the first image is missing? Not sure what the sequence of events was, and if there was an edit that went awry?
Not blaming anyone for anything, just trying to understand what went wrong with the forum software. |

OP reported a double post and asked that a mod delete one.
1 post had 4 replies... 1 post had no replies. I deleted the post with no replies (which may have been the original post?). I think that may be the cause and not your software?

Looks like a battery nut. I have a zip lock bag full of them.
Assuming your 2007 GTS' isn't running on an original battery that would be 17 years old by now, someone probably dropped the nut out of one of the battery's it's had over the years, and it didn't matter since the replacement battery came with its own nuts. |

??? What is the string of replies beginning with Jess at 11:51? Do they have anything to do with the original post about identifying a thumb screw? This site has been doing strange things since last night.

This site has been doing strange things since last night. Adri's comment is based on only seeing the second picture later in the thread -- he can't see the original image (nor can I -- it is physically missing from the server at this moment). Can you be more specific about "doing strange things since last night?" |

First, if you jump into the middle of a user string, it might be helpful if you identify yourself and your purpose. Your odd question, and a subsequent reply, without any context was rather confusing.
Last night on both an iPad and an iPhone, I was unable to enter any of the specific forums (general discussion, etc.). I ultimately got into the general discussion forum, but then there was no icon to submit a new post. This morning, I was able to enter the General discussion forum and start a new thread. When emails notified me of replies to my post, the links would not work, producing a message of something "forbidden". |

You might be surprised to learn that when you start a topic on a public forum, other people might reply to your thread. It might be on-topic, or off-topic. cygnet wrote: Last night on both an iPad and an iPhone, I was unable to enter any of the specific forums (general discussion, etc.). The links in email notices seem to be working for me now. Other than my explanation of some wonky behavior last night, I don't know of anything useful to add. Thank you.

The good news? The photo is unnecessary, apparently everyone on the forum except me knows what those thumb screws are far…

Hey Jess, I think I saw what he's talking about too. When I was clicking on the 4 for page 4 of one of the EV threads, I got a blank white page that just said Forbidden. When I clicked on the 3 for page 3, same thing. When I went back and simply clicked on the name of the thread, it loaded perfectly well and everything was fine again. On the flip side, I never had any images with the pics in this thread, both worked great for me from the get-go, so... *shrug* |

As for when, it would have been sometime before this post: Rescue van deployed to help stranded electric vehicles (Post 2661802) That post took me a while to write and I was still watching the video as I wrote it so it could have even been half an hour before, maybe less, not sure *shrug emoticon* |

I think this is different than whatever cygnet saw last night, as I hadn't yet pushed any changes to the server last night. But who knows. Pro Tip: When you encounter something wonky on the site, screenshot it. It's helpful for me to see the context of whatever problem you're encountering.
