Hi All,
I'm back with a vengeance
Couple of things have happened
1.I have scored a good, complete and running VNA engine, Hooray
2. Found a new legshield which is ready to be welded on
However I just came across another post on this site showing that there are meant to be 3 cable conduits running thru the tunnel. As you can see from my previous pics, I have just a section of one left and thats all
The post shows them replaced with copper pipes, ( guess easier to bend and dont corrode), but my question is - how are they routed, especially at the top and when they exit the tunnel
As fasr as I can tell VNA/VBB etc are identical in having the 2 x pipes for gear and clutch. BUT the brake run is different
In VBB, the tube terminates at the brake pedal with a narrow opening and is used to stop the outer cable from moving.
In VNA, apparently the outer terminates at the rear of the tunnel and the inner runs direct through to the pedal via a smaller exit tube
does any one have any pics or a confirmation of the above story?
Related question - where do i get these tubes from?

Dont know about the routing but copper microbore pipe is easy enough to come by. My local Screwfix stocks it so any plumbers merchant should have it.

For the rear brake you are correct about the VNA. The outer terminates at the rear end of the tunnel. And the inner cable runs through the tube and out at the foot brake.

The shift cables are the only ones that go through a tube in both of my VNA's. Clutch cable is loose in the tunnel. The shift cable tube runs from the exit at the rear end of the tunnel and up to just past the lower fork bearing support bracket. Comes up about 1/2" above that. It goes over the support bridge in the tunnel as well.

Thanks for the reply
Here are the pics
1. You can see a section of the old pipe. Is it the correct height and attachment, Pipe is 15mm and very thin walled. the rest is completely missing
I think this is the gear cable pipe
2. For the rear brake, you can see there is no pipe at all, but looks like it would be smaller size
3. even i run the 2 pipes all the way to the rear, what does it look like when the shield is welded on? do they just stick out or is the opening fully sealed?
4. where does the wiring run?
