I store one of my motorcycles right next to my dads mostly unused 2014 150 3vie. Unfortunately it somehow fell on top of the vespa and the bikes' brake lever went right through the top/center of the seat. I'm now wondering if it's best to repair or replace it, but I'm guessing a replacement would be the best option so that it's closest to original configuration and to make sure that the seat foam is waterproof. I'm suprised it punched a hole through the seat but I think the vinyl is a little weakened from being exposed to intense uv light in the very bright greenhouse.

Can anyone please recomend the most economical way to order a stock seat or cover replacement? Thank you.

That appears to be a solo seat which was standard on a few LX/S 150 models and will fit any of that series. If you are looking for a replacement cover, be sure it is the solo shape. If you intend to purchase a replacement seat, either shape will fit.

Send a picture of the seat to Suzy at Cheeky Seats. She will fix you up and you will be happy.

Have you got some photos of the rest of the Vespa so we can identify it?

Does the seat have a key lock in the side of it?

Probably worth looking on eBay for a complete seat, used.

From memory, it's two bolts to remove it, so a quick and easy change.

2014 is the year they changed to the Primavera. If that's the case, then you've got a decade worth of used seats to choose from!

Why?

If the force of one thing greatly exceeds the penetration resistance of what it hits, it's gotta go through.

One is a pointy piece of metal getting part of a motorcycle's weight coming down on it. The other is a 2 mm thick seat cover... UV light or not, I think you could have had a brand new seat in there and gotten the same result.

When it comes to durability, a seat cover is designed for wear resistance and fade resistance. There are obviously other considerations too, like grip, support, comfort, airflow, aesthetics, etc. I don't think puncture resistance is a priority. It's a motorcycle/scooter, not a work truck.

^^^^ Piaggio's vinyl has always been really crappy. I've had three seats replaced under warranty in my time, and that's in the UK! Two went 'sticky' and one had the stitching unravel (the vinyl couldn't hold it).
