Modern Vespa

I laid my Vespa down a couple of months ago and have been looking to see if anyone know of a place in/around Houston that does body work? There are pretty bad gashes on the side of the bike. I would think it will need to be sanded down, primed, and painted.

I don't have a suggestion, but do you have any pictures of the damage?

The garage that used to service Vespas in Houston for the dealer that has since left, is European Cars Limited, 4601 Feagan Suite A, Houston, TX 77007 telephone 713-863-1911. You may want to call and see if they still do it or who he would recommend.

If they can't help, try AF1 racing in Austin, TX. They are the closest vespa dealers. Perhaps, they would know of someone in Houston, if you didn't want to take the scooter to Austin.

Might also look for an independent shop that paints and customizes motorcycles. The European car place never did body work from what I recall when I had mine fixed and repainted after denting it the Vespa dealership was still in the Ferrari dealership. The Ferrari guys did my bodywork.

Check with Scootersmith and see if Steve knows someone who does body work. While not Vespa dealer he does service them and other brands. He also sponsors the local Scooter Batallion club and I know folks there have restored vintage so they must know folks who can do body work. There is also a vintage Vespa group that may know someone as well.
