Really wanted the italian-flag color scheme but sold out in my size. Buuuuut Optimus Prime was a good second choice.
May add a blue iridium visor for sunny days but i have some time. Weather is just cold and stupid for a couple weeks yet. |

A quick fix that worked well:

Sugu and a bottle of Villa Dei Misteri tonight, along with some work done on the Atlas.
What's Villa Dei Misteri? I'm glad you asked. VDM is the original varietals of grapes grown in Pompeii during its heyday (based off carbonized grapes found during excavation), planted in the original ancient vineyard after it was unearthed, and harvested/turned into wine as faithfully as possible taking modern sanitation and safety practices into account. It's yummy. ![]()

I have to say, on the very few times I've tried to upload a large ( > 5MB ) jpg it's looked as though it would take forever. Not timed out, I just abandoned each effort, re-sized and then uploaded almost instantly.

i appreciate the compliment! i just kinda figure caskets aren't filled with 100s, there's always more money out there to be made (in fact starting 1 October i'll be retired from the .mil with the 50% pension plus likely 100% VA on top of it) so might as well enjoy it for whatever time we've got.
I got no time for Barefoot or Kendall Jackson.

Okay. Suit yourself.
My aim is always to try to improve the site if I can. It's frustrating when people say "It doesn't work" without giving any additional context that I might use to diagnose the problem. It's even more frustrating when that person also works with software and almost certainly knows better. Days like this make me wonder why I bother.

Shebalba wrote: For the good of the empire, should I be reducing my photos for MV? I just take them right from the Photos. Is that problematic? The only issue there is that the image you are uploading might be very large, so actually getting the image to the server becomes a bandwidth challenge. Not bandwidth for the server, per se, just moving raw bytes across the wire and the additional time it takes. Especially if you have asymmetric broadband, as is often the case in the US. Or if you are on a cellular connection. Presently, the server can't resize the image until it arrives intact at the server. I'd like to pre-resize the image before uploading automatically, but there are only so many hours in the day and I spend entirely too much time trying to chase down other At various points in time, mobile phone OSs have mitigated the problem by using smaller images when sending via email or within a chat. I don't know if that's still the case, or whether it applies to images uploaded via a web form. But if you're having problems uploading a large image, resizing it in advance will almost certainly help. ⚠️ Last edited by jess on UTC; edited 1 time

Regarding images:
I recently tried to upload a pic to a post via Attachments, and it wouldn't take. The image was a PNG, and was very large file. I converted it to JPG which reduced the filesize significantly, and it uploaded just fine. I didn't bother to report, as I figured it was a PNG vs JPG issue, as well as a file size issue. But since this topic has come up, I figured I'd mention it. Unfortunately, I can't remember what the photo was. I suppose I could scroll through my history and see if anything jogs my memory. I also can't remember what the error message said. |

Most likely, the size was the issue. I'm looking at all the different places where size could potentially be causing issues to see if the limits can be increased. |
