These cheer me up.
One Is Fenner and I on our way to Berlin ( Avus ) during a 1200 mile ride in one day and the other is when we were briefly fueling up in Scotland so we must have been roughly halfway through a 1000 mile ride. A stunning rider is Fenner. I believe he was on a GTS in the second pic. NCX in the first. ![]() ![]()

It was one of the first cars actually to eat people. Snap over steer in practically any gear. Love it. |

The whole story.
The owner was working on it on his driveway so as I walked by I casually said "930"? His eyes lit up and he proceeded to tell me the whole tale of finding it and restoring it so I was happy to listen. If he didn't want to engage all he had to say was Yes and then ignore me. It's the idiots that don't understand that I'm watching the level in the tank and the concept of personal space that I can't stand.

Earlier this morning while hanging out with my buddy at a Cafe for breakfast a guy turns up on a RE 500 Classic but he was the spitting image of Adam Driver.
He quickly aquired the nickname Kylo Renfield.

I've found the first sub £10,000 BMW K1600 on Ebay.
it's a 2017 so it hasn't been strangled by Euro 5 and only has 22,000 miles on it. Totally useless but hey, it's a K1600. |

I've spent the past week (or so -- I've honestly lost track at this point) beating my head against the keyboard, building a new server. Along the way, I've learned an entirely new way to build servers in an incremental, repeatable manner. And I've also spun up -- and then destroyed -- in excess of 100 server instances, trying to get the details right, improving little by little, sometimes taking a step back, sometimes falling on my face.
Also, my forehead has the impression FGHJK, but backwards. This evening at about 10:30pm, I got the home page of the site to load on the new server for the first time. There's still much, much, much to do -- I've adopted a lot of new pieces, and they all need massaging -- but seeing the main page pop up for the first time is certainly cheering me up today. ![]() Glorious!

For the better part of the last week, I was in a ridiculously large resort in Orlando for the yearly international Phi Theta Kappa conference, Catalyst. (PTK is the official honors society for two-year colleges.) I got to see people I haven't seen since the regional officer conference about 6 months ago, more I hadn't seen since last year's conference, and plenty of folks I'm now newly friends with.
I'm a regional officer, and helped my region receive two awards! I was also included in a "Parade of Scholars" on stage in front of about 4000 people, and can officially say that a portion of my education has been officially sponsored by Coca-Cola. ![]() My group only had a few hours to spare, but we did manage to make it over to Epcot during the ridiculously busy week. I'm sure some of it is nostalgia speaking, but I haven't been there for nearly 20 years and I was just so happy to get to see Spaceship Earth again. To top it all off, I woke up this morning to an email acceptance letter for my top choice university. I am absolutely exhausted, but my gods has it been an amazing week!

Dog,
You still amaze me. 1200 miles in one day on two wheels! What draws you to these ordeals? I may be your polar opposite. I like riding slow on back counry roads (average speed 45-50 mph) stopping every hour for 1/2 hour. Shoot the shit with friends, fuel up, hydrate and hit the crapper. On these milage missons are you listeing to music, thinking deep thoughts about the cosmos. Whats the deal? Good on you, my age and back could not do it. Bob Copeland
