Tubi. Just noticed they have the entire Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) series.

The list under "My Stuff" is a little telling.

I do miss oysters in New Orleans. I like mine broiled kind of like Oysters Rockefeller (I believe originally from New Orleans). That would cheer me up.

My Son and his wife bought one of those old narrow side hall shotgun houses just a few blocks of the French Quarter. Now, I have an excuse to visit NOLA, stay free and eat oysters.

Because oysters fried in cornmeal, then served on a French roll and slathered with lots of cocktail sauce (heavy on the horseradish & lemon!) quite simply rock!

Across Iberville from Felix's is the Acme Oyster Bar...another great one. Sorta the Roadrunner/Wile E. Coyote of oyster bars!

Because Americans enjoy trying different things. They also eat plenty of raw oysters.

Some Americans like deep fried butter and Bud Light.

It was a great show, especially if you like bad acting and directing along with hokey special effects. Everything that made '80s TV great.

Still better than a lot of what's on now.

Spent part of a tense evening at El Coyote in L.A. -- many years ago -- explaining to an inebriated William Katt that my assistant didn't really want him hitting on her. My writing partner finally yanked him up and escorted him outside to the sidewalk. Good times!

Apparently at some point in her past, my Sister-in-law dated Marc Singer, the original Beastmaster.

My brother regularly gives her shit for it.

Today we wrapped up the 2023/2024 ski season. Before the ski season opened I was not sure there would be a 2023/2024 season for me due to a knee injury during the 2022/2023 season. Skiing 16 pain free days this season has been a tremendous win for me.

Now I'm shifting focus to other things. Hiking, camping, and of course lots of PTW time in the coming months.

A finale note to be cheerful about today... The sierra Nevada snow pack is at 112% of normal as of today. Another drought free summer in California and Nevada. This should help keep large fires at bay.

Bittersweet that it's our last night here, but super happy about the memories we got to make. I even had two friends tell me we ruined New Orleans for them because it was their first time here....and how do you top being in a second line on a beautiful sunny day through the French Quarter?

Already brainstorming for our 25th.

I've been using the Prince-ism of "The site formerly known as Twitter", thereby avoiding the name "X" altogether while still conveying to 100% of the audience what I'm referring to.

That said, I've been considering just calling it "Ten". Which happens to be a good description for Elon Musk, or anyone else who thinks the CyberTruck looks "cool" -- the CyberTruck having obviously been designed by a ten-year-old with a new set of crayons.

It's a combination of them being so big they take up the entire lane and the owners being incredibly stupid so they lack the ability to drive it.

Sadly if a Cyber Truck hits your car, yours will come off worse as they don't have crumple zones.

It's an absolute slab of stupidity.

As a cheeky edit - It's driven by people who don't understand cars.

While stopping at Carhenge near Alliance, Nebraska this afternoon, I was cheered by the sight of the freshly painted art installation in an attractive Battleship Grey, and also by the number of birds who were busy building their nests into the bowels of some of Detroit's upended finest.

JBlacklund,

They do this kind of weird shit out West. You can be in the middle of nowhere and someone wll plant a Boeing Jet nose first half in the ground.

There has got to be a name for this low art form. I put forward calling it "Post Modern Stonehenge Envy".

I finally got to do an accurate mileage check on my Primavera 150. 73.7 MPG, mostly easy riding, few hills. While that's not the advertised amount, it's still pretty darn good!
And so, that cheers me up
