Peking - Beijing
Bombay - Mumbai
Madras - Chennai

I'm pretty sure its ok on here to mention the act of voting. Just so long as we don't promote or bash party A over party B etc.
A bit like how the BBC on election day keep things perfectly factual and non party-political- with lots of pics of dogs at polling stations. My dog's coming along to vote!

The discussion of politics is indeed forbidden around here, but encouraging people to vote is just one single politic, which is just fine under the current rules.

Correct. To put a finer point on it, partisanship is what is actually forbidden here. And I strongly encourage everyone, of all parties, to be active participants in democracy.

If I were numbering the bodies in our solar system I'd start with the big fat hot one on the center as 0, making our little blue one 3. But that's just me.

Speaking as a software engineer, I can state with some authority that software engineers and astronomers aren't very much alike.

But both have a strong propensity to do their best work in the wee hours.

Hah.

I was thinking (for SW engineers) the hours where everyone else has gone home and it is finally quiet enough to concentrate every bit of mental acuity on the problem at hand.

That could make sense and I considered that. But we were numbering planets and the big hot one isn't a planet. But if we're numbering celestial bodies I agree 100%. 😂

You say that now, but once you fill it with monoliths, the density will be sufficient for ignition.

Haven't had the boat out this year yet. Fishing has been slow so decided to freedive for scallops. My neighbor came with for some snorkeling and we left at 6am yesterday. Got my limit of 10 and was back home at noon. Ended up making ceviche and seared a couple for the wife. First time using scallops for ceviche. I'll definitely be doing that again! Happy day and the boat ran perfect.😁
