I got around to checking the photographer web sites for the companies that take photos on Deal's Gap (the Tail of the Dragon) today. My road trip took me through there on August 14th. It's a rare opportunity to get photos while I'm actually riding.

Aaaaand yeah. Spain strikes once again lol.
Turns out they "forgot" the added costs of shipping a us bike over there to build on, then shipping back (done for registration ease for the buyer which i totally get and appreciate that they do!!). So the plans will be changing and I may have to "settle" for a 1 of 25 with a few custom touches instead of a 1 of 1. But dialogue is happening and we'll see what transpires. I've been sent many sketches of different designs they have fairly ready to go (and apparently a few models they already have the US bikes there waiting to be remade) and i like a few of em.

Welp.
Beans. Everything quoted was assuming i was in the EU and could pick up in person/no back and forth across oceans. I have a quote for one that could be done at their shop in Miami but it's a bit north of what i was hoping to spend still. Ugh. Why did someone have to go and claim NVIDIA was subpoenaed when they werent lol. Frickin hedges tryna short.... |

Just took the VL1 out and put a few miles on it, just cruising around the neighborhood (since the tag expired in 2008 or so). It's a little twitchy to start with no choke, but once it's running all's right with the world. It rides fine… though I chicken out at anything much over 30 mph…

The Springboks Rugby team beat New Zealand's All Black team in Cape Town today - for the fourth time in a row.
Cheslin Kolbe - one of the Springbok players - is a elusive jack rabbit of a runner who finds holes in defensive lines and leaves the tackle opposition behind. One of the spectators has a delightful poster waving for the TV cameras: "Cheslin Kolbe is faster than a debit order on pay day !" (EDIT: Spelling of Cheslin's Surname corrected.) ⚠️ Last edited by Fudmucker on UTC; edited 1 time

Riding through Spearfish Canyon this morning, I found a family of Mountain Goats nibbling the grass alongside the road. I often see Bighorn Sheep in or near Deadwood, but the white Mountain Goats are a bit more elusive, though they are generally oblivious of the people near them.
They appear a lot more sleek in the warmer summer months after shedding their shaggy winter coats. Oh, almost forgot....seeing them this close cheered me up even though I was already reasonably cheered up from the nice ride, sort of a double dollop of cheery frosting on the cheery cake.

Back on the scoot.
The doctor gave me the go ahead to start riding again, after three months off the scooter for shoulder surgery. First stop, donuts and coffee.

JBlacklund,
Wow, I did not think you could get that close to Mountain Goats. The closest I have come is viewing them from far away. You folks must be chilling and mellow out there.
