I find this odd, because when my wife and I got married in 2002, we moved into a loft within a mile of Lee Harvey's, and my memories tell me it was there when we moved in. Apparently not. One of the best lines I've heard about the JFK assassination was from a comedian that talked about how there's a museum on the Sixth Floor of the Texas Book Depository. He said that "you can stand on the exact spot where the assassin who fired the shot that killed the President stood. You can also go up to the Sixth Floor, but you can stand behind the fence on the Grassy Knoll." |

To continue the thread of how Dallas thinks about the JFK assassination, There is an X in the right lane where he was when the first shot hit.
Someone has also used spray paint to put a couple of Xs between the first two lanes where the second shot hit. That whole area is inundated with JFK conspiracy theorists and Warren Commission supporters plying their wares to convince tourists that their point of view is correct. X marks the spot(s).

What got me were the eyewitness (nosewitness) reports from people on the street that smelled gunpowder. The smoking gun...https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2945784/ The guy that was supposed to be back seat behind driver with loaded M-16 on the floor riding in the car behind the presidents car got really drunk the night before. They put the newbie back there with the the loaded (5.56 important in the autopsy) M-16 and when the first shot rang out he jumped up with the rifle and with his finger on the trigger pointed the weapon to cover the president but when the driver braked the gun went off and the secret service fired the bullets that killed the president. This is most plausible not only because of witness reporting gunsmoke at street level but in the 60's telling the truth about the secret service killing the president and actually admitting how inept they are to the world unthinkable...perfectly explains the coverup. |

This is most plausible not only because of witness reporting gunsmoke at street level but in the 60's telling the truth about the secret service killing the president and actually admitting how inept they are to the world unthinkable...perfectly explains the coverup. The gun in question was an early-model AR-15 model 601, and importantly this early model had a heavy firing pin (heavier than the later version) that was prone to occasional "slamfire" events, resulting in an accidental discharge. No trigger pull necessary. You can read more about that theory here, though this might be behind a paywall: https://mokan9997.medium.com/what-if-hickey-didnt-pull-the-trigger-dd9fae6a664c The AR-15 design would eventually be modified to have a lighter firing pin that didn't have enough mass to accidentally discharge, and the later models would go on to become the M-16 that we know today. I rate this particular conspiracy theory as plausible, but again, far from proven. One interesting tidbit, though: the secret service has never, ever used the M-16 since that day. |

I'm cheered up considerably today. My Cyclone Rake has been sitting for over a year, gas shut off and carb dry. It, as usual, started on the second pull. And, the gas in it is mostly two years old. That Cyclone is one of the best things I ever bought: it works great, and the only trouble was a broken weld on a hose clamp. I even had a replacement on hand, coincidentally. 20 years and still going strong. (I have no connection with the company, just like the product that does what it should.)

Obviously, I have not kept up on the different theories of the JFK assassination.
This is the first time that I have heard of an accidental discharge from a Secret Service Rifle. Wow, and all the discussion about the heavy firing pin. I guess I have been in the dark. I sort of ignored the issue due to the volume of different theories. I do know that both the President and his brother Bob were seriously taking on the organized crime (Mob). Bob Copeland |

My own belief is that Conspiracy Theories start when people can't or don't want to accept the truth.
Having said that I can't blame them when you consider just how much we get lied to on a daily basis. You're welcome. |
