Oh and Scooterwest works on chrome again. That makes me quite happy, especially with my first major a few hundred miles away (since I ride at highway speeds a lot, I'm going for every 5k instead of 6k just because I'm neurotic like that especially when it comes to a broken belt on the side of the road).

I now have a 50 inch, 4K, curved monitor on the desktop at work. Replaced one of the two old 24 inch monitors. The other one is now portrait monitor next to the giant.

The serious ones are even better. Nah, we scored HUGE with this one. A friend of ours is a pro photographer and I know she was dreading the conversation as soon as I said "well instead of paying your usual fee...."
But then when she realized we were hooking her up with airfare and hotel in Venice (her first time there) she was instantly not even close to upset lol. Even though the lot cost us less than her fee for 2 days, she didn't have to try and book anything, she doesn't have to complicate her taxes even further, everyone was delighted. Plus her beau was able to tag along (chipped in his airfare and even snagged some meals to "make up" for the room, quite a lovely chap) and they had such a great time. Barter system still works y'all.

We have had the wamest snowless Winter in recorded weather history. Despite this good luck, my old bones/hands can not stand riding below 50 Degress F.
I expect the riding season will arrive earlier here in Minnesota. Although, my new Kymco AD550 has hand warmers. I have never had them before. Unbelievable. Bob Copeland ![]() My son bought me this hand warmer for Xmas. I use it in the car on the way to work when it is really cold. Instead of gloves, I pass this back in forth beween my hands. Toasty! I usualy drive one handed anyway.

I fixed the aircon myself a few days ago. It's currently 36C outside and it's working fine 😀
For the curious it was a cooked capacitor. Was bulging like a body builder's biceps. Pretty obvious and cheap and easy part to get.

Pretty obvious and cheap and easy part to get. After living in Phoenix for 36 years, I learned to keep start and run capacitors on hand in the garage. When the A/C goes out, it could be 95F in the house in a matter of hours. Now I live in north western Nevada and summers are mild. But I still keep capacitors on hand. An A/C repair company will charge you 5 to 10 times for the parts compared to what you can buy them for. Plus a hefty service charge. |

We've been able to turn off the heat and open the windows for the last week or so. The low temperatures have been above 50°F (509.67°R), and highs have been pushing 80°F (27°C).

Our guy was up north at the time (over Independence Day), so we suffered it out (no, not really, Mrs. F panicked and bought a window unit, which was used for 2 days and now sits in it's box in the basement ), but he got to it quickly, and yep, a capacitor. Can't remember the bill, but it was surprisingly cheap and we're all good for the moment. |
