The chain has lots of miles left in it. The side flex is still good. I use Tsubaki 530 o-ring chains on my bike. Today's 530 chains are much stronger than they were in the 1930s when Harley started using them. Today's 530 chains are used of super high horsepower sport bikes. My 400# chopper that makes about 75hp doesn't stress them much. I get a lot of miles out of them (helps offset the high cost). |

skids wrote: I was awarded the Molto Verboso award today! I had to look that up, roughly translated it means diarrhea of the mouth... The title of Molto Verboso (the text that appears right under your name in your posts) is granted after you've reached 1005 posts. Why 1005? Because 1005, written in Roman Numerals, is "MV". Which, of course, stands for "Modern Vespa", but also "Molto Verboso". And yes, it means "very verbose". This is subtly different than the award of Molto Verboso, that appears in the bottom left corner of your posts. The Molto Verboso award is granted for an undisclosed action performed by the user after they have reached 1005 posts. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

My 2018 MacBook Pro screen issue is resolved.
Initial repair estimate was $874.16. I sourced a used replacement from eBay for $219.99, and installation was $92.01, for a total of $312.
It's a "B" quality replacement, but to me it looks great.

My physical was "extra" and included all the bells and whistles. 😒😆 got the new wheels pulled back off the scoot cause ADHD made me forget to balance them. Got them balanced (more or less at least, the parnes unit doesn't *REALLY* work perfectly with SIP wheels sadly, might just need to get the "longer" cone shortened a bit is all) and back on today. Wife's TDI had a bad EGT sensor. It's the one that does the DPF regen, but we did a DPF delete and tune so while it isn't really a big deal for it to be bad, she got sick of the flashing lights in the gauge cluster which is fair Got 2 boxes sent i've been sitting on for a week or so. And was able to get my pressure washer back together after a carb rebuild, grabbed a fresh tarp since it has to sit out back all winter, and a few other things at the Depot.... knockin stuff off the to-do list for sure. Gotta get a few more things done then I'll have enough chores checked off when the warmer temps hit sunday/monday/tuesday I can take the bonnie out. update, some fairly rare stuff i found whilst cleaning up the other day was finally photographed and posted for sale on the appropriate forum related to the subject matter. Guess we'll see what's what there but it's one more thing checked off. Tomorrow replace the (still working fine but very aged) sump pump, mayhaps..... |

As you would expect, the chain with about 12k miles has a bit more run out, but it's not bad at all. That cheers me up! we checked them regularly on the dirt bikes after a through cleaning from the weekend of racing. |

Crossing 10,000 miles on Ghost today cheered me up.
Ghost is the 2023 Vespa GTS that Ken Wilson (Lostboater) left for me when he went into hospice before passing last year. It had 341 miles on it when I picked it up and rode it home in June. Then I sent it to California and, fulfilling Ken's request, rode it across the country in the Scooter Cannonball Run. With a clear, calm 60F day, I chose a route around the country roads north of downtown Jacksonville on a much needed ride. Ghost is an amazingly good scooter, smooth and quiet with plenty of power. If I wasn't keeping the name Ken gave it, I would call it Hot Rod. Bill
Got stopped by an endless train.
I always stop on the wooden bridge.
Stopped to see Mom and Dad along the way.
Shark Road was the farthest I got.
10,000 miles.

also how'd you get a photo of the lcd? my framerate on my camera doesn't give a proper image of everything due to the nature of how an lcd works.... |

I followed the instructions to remove it in the owner's manual and it didn't disappear. All service is current even without the reminders. The photo of the dash was taken with my five year old iPhone. It works every time. Bill |

I have a similarly-named bike with a Cannoball connection as well: the Silver Ghost, which I bought as salvage and resurrected into a mostly functional scooter. It was intended to be my 2008 SCB steed, but ultimately did not make it to the starting line. Here it is outside Mission Dolores, playing dead for Scooter Tag:
