I just want to add that Airhawks actually do work, but it does feel like you are sitting on a sandwich.

I think that there's only one actual Airhawk.
The rest are just copies. I've just seen one on Temu of all places. However - https://airhawk.net/?srsltid=AfmBOorXFwdbY6UIguQyOnPr2BTIuXtr7zHA74zaIEt13tyTVCqnWI_g |

I like the Airhawk for longer road trips on relatively straight roads.
They are not as good in traffic or on twisty roads. The key is to use less air than you probably think at first. It should be just enough that it doesn't quite lift your butt off the seat so there is still some friction between you and the bike. What's the point, then? I hear you asking. It equalizes the pressure between the different curves between the seat and your bottom. |

If we go out for a spin local (tally-ho style, feet back, knees forward, arse perched on the very front of the saddle), he doesn't use it,, only for touring |

The math for leap years is a bit... arcane. And actually, in my very first programming interview (way back in 1988) I was asked to write the code to validate a date, using these very specific (and arcane) leap year rules.

Airhawks work just fine, however to really get the benefits of it you have to inflate it to a point where you feel a bit "perched" on top of the seat and so in the corners you tend float on top of the bike which I don't particularly like.
If you are choosing to do a lot of highway miles I'd recommend one but I found that it took away much of the feedback from the bike in the bends. Joking apart it would probably be easier and cheaper to buy some painkillers. |

I'd just need a bit of code to reset my Casio, but I know this guy.. right? There is 2 different things. A day is one rotation of the earth around its axis. So noon is noon every day when the sun is at its highest point in the sky. That takes 24hrs. A year is one circumnavigate of the earth around the sun. That is a different thing. And unfortunately days do not fit exactly in that. You could make the second just that tiny bit longer to make it fit. What we would experience then is that on the clock noon (highest position of the sun in the sky) would come day after day a little bit later. By end of February it would be 1 hr later, by the end of the first year it would be 6 hrs later, so at 6 in the evening, after 2 years it would be at mid night, after 3 years it would be at 6 in the morning and after 4 years it would be back at 12. And that would repeat itself in a cycle of 4 years.

I have had Airhawks on my bikes-2xT-Max, Vespa, Kymco- over a 20yr + period and have gone from getting added comfort to necessity as age has diminished my bum cheeks. The secret I found was to inflate them to the very minimum which allows enough support on the straights for compression-and back on the saddle feeling-when cornering. This as air moves from bubble to bubble. We have excellent biking roads in NZ i.e.. more corners than straights. One new set of covers so far (looking a bit worn now). More air in them does give you a floaty feeling.
I've just received-from AE- a knockoff- for my 50cc screamer, it looks well made and it's under seat tapes and fastening do look better than Airhawk. Sla'inte |

On the subject of seat covers - not sure who, if anyone to quote.
What about sheepskin covers rather than an airhawk? To me, they look utterly awful but do they help with relieving the numbness? |

Sometimes I just browse around Craigslist to see what's out there for bikes. Firefox, trying to be helpful, popped up a helpful translation prompt on this listing. Alas, no offer for Japanese translation on Hondas or German translation on BMWs. Not even Italian for Vespas--just this one listing. I guess if you invoke Malossi enough...
Italian or English you decide (Firefox certainly can't help)

He had the sheepskin and a Shoei helmet to give to me. I didn't like the seat cover so he took it home. The helmet didn't fit but I took it home and gave it to one of our scooter club riders. Ken also gave me a fly screen that had RAPPUTAK written along the top. I kept the screen but removed the letters. Bill

I made the assumption that the back lighting on the Red BMW's dash was broken because it would only come on occasionally.
Having thought about it a little more it was only coming on during dark conditions so it's an automatic thing. Something else to go wrong then |
