An early oil change on the RT and then a couple of hours out riding in the sun.

Another hour catching up with a friend over coffee and then a gentle ride home.

Clean off the bugs and relax.

Sister and BIL are camping at a nearby park, so scooting over to do some hiking and birding with them. Oh, yeah, it's also an awesome spring day, spring migration and wildflowers in full bloom!

Rode the R1200R up to Deadwood at 7:00 AM for about an hour of chatting up some MC guys at the coffee shop there, then another hour riding back home via a Black Hills backroad, but not before finally getting a shot of the bike with the Chipmunks out in front of the chocolate shop.

Sunday my wife helped me with putting my summer tires back on the Stella, Continental Zippies. I hadn't had them on in a couple of years. So, having a vacation day yesterday I took her out for about 80 miles. Last tank she got me 99.4mpg with a solid 87mpg since I've been riding her.

Also this weekend, we managed to fence in the area between the garage and our adjacent business in order to keep rabbits and deer out. We have about a dozen tomato plants in buckets and a bunch to go in yet.

That's a beautiful area!

Finally sold my LX150. A bit bittersweet as it was my entry into the world of scooting, but I'd moved on to larger scooters, and subsequently was adopted by my wife, albeit briefly. Mostly just taking up space in the garage. So feeling just a bit lighter atm.

And it went to a good home. Buyer has had a bunch of PTWs , from mopeds to MCs, and can appreciate it.

The garage is now in 100% summertime mode, with only one vehicle out of the five housed in it qualifying as a genuinely practical, utilitarian transportation device, the Subaru.

Everything else in there is for frivolous and wasteful entertainment, which is the best kind.

The fact that during the relatively disastrous and unanticipated wildfire which burned its way one afternoon and evening, nearly five years ago, through several small towns in the Pacific Northwest where I live, the larger-than-life 3-D sculptures of DONUTS at a local Donuttery (Puck's Donuts, in Phoenix, OR) survived unscathed - and though the Donut shop burned to the ground, it was rebuilt and, like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, is flourishing today.

There's a diesel gala on at the preserved railway not too far from me, so I decided to swing over there last night which meant heading through the city around 5.30pm (prime rush hour), something I haven't done for a long time, and it really struck me how I'd forgot just what scooters were originally designed to do (and what they excell at)!

Straight to the front at traffic lights, weaving through slow moving cagers, winning every green light drag race.
