Trying to source rear shocks. I see these for the MP3 400 but some sites also include the 500. But my question is has anyone used YSS shocks? Would you recommend?

I replaced my front shock with a YSS unit. So far so good!

I only have about 4K miles on it, but it seems fine. Adjusting the pre-load is a snap with the screw collar.

Now, that top nut on the ET4 mount? That is a nasty MoFo!! But that's not the shocks fault. Although the top cap for the top bushing was a bit wide. I managed to get by. I think if I ever had to do it again, I'd notch that top cap so my socket could get past it and make it a lot easier to install the nut. Your configuration might be a lot easier.

I replaced the OEM rear shock on my Yamaha SMax with a YSS unit.

Mine is adjustable for preload and rebound dampening. It seems well made and the materials are very good.

It worked very well on my Cannonball bike last summer and I'm contemplating getting YSS front and rear for my 2007 GTS very soon.

I've used YSS shocks on my Silverwing and my SMax. I'm pretty sure most, if not all, of the SMax YSS shocks in the US came through us, because I had to special order them and apparently, YSS has better things to do than drop everything and make one set just for me. They are a decent shock, especially for the money. Overall, I would compare them favorably to Bitubo shocks.
I checked with the distributor we get them from, and they fit the Fuoco, which is the US MP3 500. The distributor doesn't stock them anymore, but we still have some left. For $140 a pair, they're hard to beat.
YSS part number is TB222-405P-03-85

Often, Italian manufacturers or distributors list the part as for the first model it fit, and don't list every model it fits. The air filter in the MP3 is usually referred to as the Beverly air filter, because that's the first model that they used it in.

Im using on my LX 125/190 2007 front and rear YSS.
Front one is VD222-210T-01-88, really good with price and still after 2000km works well.
Only problem was missing nuts to connect it with the wheel hub. On the stock the nuts were welded to the shock absorber. So i needed to add new bolts and nuts.

At the rear I had OD220-285P-01 for about 200km, bottom eye ring with rubber bushing give up and it started to knock. Replaced with top version of YSS, the ECO LINE E-SERIES GAS SHOCK ABSORBER OE302-285T-01AL-38. Will see how long it will last
