Modern Vespa

April 2023. Traveling from Zion, Pennsylvania.

Great video thanks, brought back some memories of my own far too short visit to NYC in August 2016. Also went to a Yankees game that they won, and a couple of shows. Love the Flat Iron building, and fell in love with the Chrysler Building.
How do you edit your video to add in music and the location information? Any particular app/programme?

Thanks for the kind words, pigletpilot. I download my GoPro videos to my iPadPro and use iMovie for my video editing. iMovie has the functionality to add titles to screens, so that is how I add the location information. Sometimes, I use the ReLive app to create videos with Google Earth-style flyovers of my route. I have a subscription through Epidemic Sound for my music.

pigletpilot Sounds like a fantastic trip. Was it your first time visiting the Big Apple? Did you ride your Vespa?

It was a fantastic trip - too short really. It was our first visit, we were returning to New Zealand from a wedding in Cyprus and wanted to see NY, then visit family in Kansas City, on to San Francisco where we hired a convertible Mustang and drove the Pacific Coast Highway to LA, spent a number of days there before driving back to SF and flying home.
No Vespas involved though.

Thanks, Bob. I shot the entire NYC video with a chest mount. I have a chin mount, too, but haven't been as happy with the results. I seem to do a lot of looking around when I ride and find the results to be a bit nausea-inducing.

Outstanding. It sounds like one heck of a trip and that you made the most of it. A convertible Mustang on the PCH would probably provide a similar experience to the Vespa!

The Mustang was as close to riding as I was going to get. It was only the Ecoboost motor, but we weren't in a hurry, and a good stab of the throttle produced artificial sounds to make us believe it was something else.

Most excellent video. I really think you have this video scootering mastered. Please feel free to share more of your adventures. I did like your comment about anchoring video camera on your chest so it is not swiveling with your head. The guys in my riding group that video (a) do not get up on their subject aka the scooter in front of them, and (b) have the camera on their helmet moving around constantly.

So, without correct authority, I officially award you the Cecil B Demille Scooter video Award for excellence.

WoW, GREAT video, music was spot on. Well done.
It's been 45+/- years since I left the City there were still plenty of sights in your video I still recognized.
I can say however, riding from Zion into the city, I live near Harrisburg, is nothing I would like to do anymore. The damned city drivers and crazys have me not even wanting to drive there anymore.
