Modern Vespa

Hello. Old guy here. Other than my new BV-400 may need to " relearn" how to run/idle -after battery cables are removed for a few seconds-any problem with anything else if I disconnect the battery to install the leads for a SAE charging plug ( battery tender). I realize I might be able to use small jumpers so no connection is lost while I have the battery bolts out but my hands shake and I certainly don't want to slip and arc. Any replies appreciated. Thanks

Depending on what screen you have, you might need to reset the clock and language.

Quite a few people disconnect scooter batteries for the winter, so the bikes themselves tend to be designed to be fine with this.

You might lose the clock setting, but the ECU and ASR will relearn quickly.

Well I managed to use a couple small jumper wires w/alligator clips, so nothing lost. Plugged in the battery tender. Waiting for weather to cooperate now.
